    CENTRAL COAST SHOWDOWN 2012

CCS is on again for the fourth annual time, once again raising much needed funds for the Cancer Council! This year is promising to be the biggest yet.

    Date: Saturday August 25th, 2012
Venue: Gosford Showground (Showground Rd, Gosford, NSW)

    What is the show about?

CCS is all about the passion for custom cars, minitrucks and bikes. The show has a focus on FABRICATION and UNIQUENESS, meaning that entered vehicles should have a cool-factor or mods that aren’t just simple bolt-ons.

We want LOW cars and trucks, CRAZY engine bays and drivelines, DETAILED paint and chassis, LOUD and WILD bikes, old-school COOL, etc etc.. Get the idea? This isn’t saying your car/bike needs to be an immaculate show vehicle. Bring your daily driver, bring your in-the-build project. If you have the passion, we are sure your vehicle will fit in at the show.

    How to enter

Vehicle entry is on the day and is $10 per car/bike entered. There are no forms to fill out – just arrive at the showground at the specified time, pay the $10 entry fee and you will be directed on where to park up.

Spectator entry is a gold coin donation.

    Time:
    - Entrants to arrive between 9:00am and 10:00am. Please try to arrive on time!
    - Gates will open to the public at 10:30am
    - Show will wrap up at approximately 3:00pm

What else will be there on the day?

    Food:
    - BBQ and drinks provided by Terrigal Surf Life Saving Club
    - Coffee van
    - Maybe more as the day gets closer!

    Entertainment:
    - DJs on rotation
    - Heaps of giveaways and raffles
    - We are in talks with the SRH/ARD FMX team
    - Gorgeous promo girls
    - Trade stalls from several vendors and sponsor displays
    - Of course – some of the best cars in the country all on display[/list]

    More info

This is a SHOW N SHINE event. There is no burnout comp, blare your stereo comp, or similar. Enjoy the vehicles on display for what they are. This stands for entering and leaving the show as well – anyone seen doing a burnout in the carpark or on the road will have their number plate reported to the police.

If you are bringing in heavily modified vehicles, please do so in accordance with the law. This includes ensuring that modifications are carried out in a safe and structural manner – no one likes seeing haggard work that brings the scene down.

FAMILY FRIENDLY EVENT – STRICTLY ALCOHOL FREE
There is no ATM at the showground, please have cash before you get to the show.

    Accommodation

If you are looking for accommodation, Gosford is the best bet. This includes:
    - Formule 1
    - Galaxy Motel
    - Anywhere along the Central Coast Highway at Gosford

Unfortunately in past years people (generally bogans who only came for a look in a stock Commodore or similar), leave the carpark and fishtail it up the road. Showground Rd is a fairly busy road and police have been called because of it. As the event organiser, it all gets pinned on me and it becomes harder to hold the event each year.

I'd rather do the responsible thing to make sure the show continues - the majority of people are responsible anyway

    Nothing personal Matt.
I know that 1% of people can fuck it for the rest. [no offence 1%ers] haha

I understand being a figurehead for the meet has some pressure and responsibilities.

    My post stands.
Maybe it is about the ORG needing more people managing the exiting traffic that is the problem.
Personally I think that "bogans in dunnydores" ripping it up and showering people and cars with stones are a large problem at these types of events. par for the course.

And yes i do understand the logistics of running a show/ etc. but threatening people with the law before any act is "NAZI"

so, an aired harley with nitrous and a few other bits and pieces is a no go then coz its all bolt on stuff?

    Joe and Underground

That is in the writeup to deter people who think that for example, if they have a set of chrome wheels and neons on their Lancer they can enter..
I'd like to emphasise SIMPLE and the OR in the statement too....

Look at the end of the day, we had about 20 bikes turn up last year and had a positive response from them. So this year I'm trying to get the word out more to other enthusiasts. The writeup above is generic and I will post on other sites as well as here.

If you want to continue just ragging on what is above, go ahead and I will continue to reason for it. Most would say "who cares what these guys say" but I do take it to heart. This whole show is done in my own time and the day's proceeds go to the Cancer Council.

Hope to see a few of you there for what I hope will be a good day out...

    Hi,

I throw my hand in to help Matt organise the show. Recently I was working at a long running family show, the central coast show and shine, put on every year by the old fellas at the all ford club. A show that has been running for over 15 years now. This year they were told by the venue they'd been holding it at for years that they were not welcome back due to the burnouts performed by (idiots) people leaving the show last year, they had to relocate to a smaller and inferior venue resulting in a much smaller show, all due to the inconsiderate actions of dickheads who wanted to do a burnout leaving the show to compensate for the (lack of) size of their genitals.

You'll have to forgive us for not caring about your opinion of us being "nazis" about the burnouts, it seems the message is not getting through to the people it needs to, so we have to be a bit more proactive.

Let's not kid ourselves, skids are fun, but not when a show can potentially be shut down the following year or told it's not welcome back just for some hero wanker trying to prove how tough he/his car is. (plus they're never good skids anyway). Surely by now you guys would have learnt there is a time and place for everything...

That sounds cool, bring it if it's yours.

if you chopped the bike in half then ghetto welded it back together with a bit of rebar and an oxy torch your bike would be a show stopper.

That's not worthy of a proper response.

That's all well and good, it was a serious question on my part and not intended to put down your organization of/ and or the event itself. I didn't want to go to the trouble of bringing my bike to the show if it was going to be mocked for having bolt on and not total fabricated parts that's all.. I'm proud of my ride even if I didn't weld it together it's still something different from the norm..

Mate, if It's cool, we want it there. As Matt said, it's mainly to deter the um, autosalon sort of clowns. I happen to have a massive soft spot for hardtail bobbers, so you guys aren't the ones we're talking about in that case...
