Hi there, winter is pretty much upon us now and I have only a month left on my rego. While off the road, I plan on fitting aftermarket accessories like pegs, grips, indicators, shift linkage, and maybe those flash looking flush mount fuel filler and battery/fuel gauge like the ones I saw on AJ56's bike.

I have been looking on kuryakyn site and eBay for parts and was wanting some input on those cheaper parts listed in china you see on eBay. Are they any good or should I stay away from them? Cheers.

Depends on your budget. Theres crap and good crap. Joker Machine for pegs, kurakyn for shiny bits, Dakota digital guages if youre looking at Speedo options. You cand beat the HD genuine flushmount caps and led fuel guages. Plenty of options but just spend the time and the coin your bike deserves.

china has 3 basic manufacturing quality standards, it's not all crap

1 for domestic consumption and it's generally quite good, Audi A4 for example is made under licence to there own spec list, they are picky when it comes to spending thier own money.

2 made to spec on order for export to other companies, lets say harley jackets for example. of course not all orders are high spec

3 made for sale to anyone and everyone around the world. this is what gives it the name CRAP

some times what happens is, lets say an order of high fasion jeans is for 5000 units, they will make 5500 to cover production rejects, client reject and client sweeteners. maybe they will only need 100 units to cover these situations. What do you think happens to the other 400 units? It's almost the same on all production line runs. If you can find the right connection or city then you can find the same part as is sitting on the shelf of your favorite bike shop.

Does anybody here in Adelaide know where I can look get aftermarket parts besides Peter Stevens? I find that Peter Stevens don't have a great selection of aftermarket add on parts, and are a bit pricey too. Do I just have to keep an eye on eBay instead?
