Brake lights stuck on

I'm in the process of changing my grips, but after reassembling the right switch box I can't get the brake lights to turn off. If I wiggle it they cut out briefly but as soon as I tighten the screws or let go the lights come back on. Is there an adjustment or have I done something wrong?

You have broken the brake light switch. It happens when you don't know what your doing. When ever you mess with the Brake leavers and grips you must wedge a small screwdriver or cardboard. Between the switch block and the brake leaver to hold it open a few mm . This will allow. Up to put it back together with out braking the switch

Hmm. I guess if we all knew what we were doing we wouldn't need a discussion forum would we.

Never saw any mention of that in either the repair manual or the instructions for the grips.

FFS. Since I was fucking with the throttle, I read the section on throttle, which describes every step to completely remove the throttle cables and grip, and reassemble them, and the brake lever switch isn't even mentioned.

I just read the section on switches, and sure enough, it mentions the cardboard.

Can I use the wedge and reassemble it again to fix it or is it fucked now and needs replacing?
