Back in primary schoo, it your haircut which determined whether you were cool or not. In high school it was about how you wore your school bag whether you were cool or not. If you recall, nobody actually gave a fuck and it meant nothing.
Now it's about what bike you ride? heh.
Hell, I had a bloke laugh at me a bout riding a skirty, I felt good about it, at least I wasn't riding a "big dick". Another lad once told me sporties are for chicks, I told him the truth: dude I rode a 125cc scooter before this bitch. I don't give a fuck, I enjoy the time I spend in my head while riding around the place.
I do have to laugh tho... A pissing contest usually ends up with 2 blokes feet covered in piss. Still doesn't amount to anything but weird looks and dodgy explanations about wet feet.
I'm a sporty rider, love it! Quick, manouverable, lightweight, small, damn loud as it rides higher in the rev range usually...
The only people wanting to get into a pissing match about sportys vs blahblah are insecure about how they fit in.
As mentioned, just ride it like you don't give a fuck. Isn't that what "freedom" is about?

PS. If you're selling your sporty after a few "skirtster" comments and a handful of threads on an internet forum, you may as well just give up bikes again, nobody wants another insecure poser...

+1 BC,KC, Chriso,FLSTC, and anyone else that is a long term/time rider. We all say there is nothing wrong with sportys at all, it's just some of the dickhead riders out there that are new to the scene and take offence to what people affectionately call them.
Yeah yeah, newbys do ya time and one day 20 or 30 years down the track you might call them a skirtster or girls bike too, and you rode one. It's just what people SAY, If you take offence to it now then you havent been in the game long enough so get used to it.
Most long term sporty riders are used to it and don't even enter the debate. They know what thier bike can do and how good they go...... that isn't the issue.
If you read back through the posts, all the name calling, rude and offensive connotations have come from NEW sporty owners, all other posters have simply given the sportys different, colourful names, or simply agreed that sportys are great, They didn't abuse the owners of non sporty owners personally.
And no i don't own a sporty, Neither did i enter the debate untill a couple of posts ago when a newby contradicted himself.
Yes i have riden for 28 years, To work for 24 years, had multiple jappas, dirt bikes and 4 harleys like others on this forum. I might be 120kg's, fat and ride an ultra, Iv'e worked fucken hard for it and earn't every bolt in it.
I do wear a black hemet, but also a silver and grey one. Black jacket. What other colour jacket do you get, Pink!. Black or camo dragin pants or similar. i Don't get upset easily unless someone is a total fuckwit like some have been on this thread. Besides, I look more like jabba the hut in my gear. Not a poofy storm trooper!
And finally, I love everything about my bike and how it is, it was MY choice, I decided what i wanted on it and i love it. I didn't ask others what should i put on it because i have imagination and Knowledge attained after many years in the game. My name is not xerox, im not a copier.
