Hi everybody , im new on this site and have already found it to be an invaluable resource into troubleshooting issues . i own a 2000 xl1200s sportster sport . I havent seen any of my year on my travels , have seen a few 96 models and 99 models so if theres any one out there with a 2000 thousand model i would be keen to hear from you . I do have a few questions in regard to my bike i was hoping for some help with .

1 . the 2000 model 1200 sportster sport models came out with dual plug head . i purchased mine 2nd hand and it has single plug heads . They are buell heads painted all black ( no highlighted/silver fins ) if anyone can help identify what heads these might be i would be glad to hear from you .

2. does any body know where i might find out how many 2000 xl1200s were made and how many in Australia ? Im lead to believe via reading other forums that these are a rare model but finding out actual production numbers has proved to be a task and a half ! Any help with this would also be much appreciated .

Don't have any answers for your questions unfortunately. However I will be reading this thread intensely as I also own a 2000 XL1200S.
I found mine in the garage of a hoarder who had purchased it helping a friend out of financial trouble. Luckily for me he was not only a hoarder but also a projects man, and as this was in perfect nic when he got it, it didn't need anything and didn't get much use (1527kms).
Its now sitting in my garage waiting for some funds to help her breath a bit better and just give her a bit of my style, currently stock.
What mods have you done do far?

Mate had a 2003 model spotter sport, it was sigle plug too, but went well!

Still the search goes on to find more info on 2000 xl1200s . Would love to know exactly how many many were released in Australia. Mines had a few mods .42mm flatside mikuni . Screamin Eagle heavy breather intake . Screamin Eagle 11:1 hi comp pistons . Done away with the original bars and put 1&3/4 inch buffalo tbars with 5&1/2 inch rise . Any links etc to find production numbers on this bike would be appreciated . Its a hard model to find info about on the internet . And ive google the s@#t out of it believe me .
