They save ten cents on a sticker but will need to send a letter that costs fifty ???

    This country is retarded..

They currently send the sticker by post. What is this fixation with stickers?

Just heard on A Current Affair, (Therefore it must be true),  The Victorian Red Tape Commissioner is looking at scrapping rego stickers as well, hopefully it'll happen pretty soon.

Yeah and they are saying that scrapping the little sticker should give us a saving in the cost of our rego......

You guys might get a sneaky surprise like we in South Oz did. No longer can you register for 6 or 9 months, only 3 or 12.  Bastards.

Are you blokes for real? Do you really check the rego sticker before you jump on a bike or  drive the work ute ? I must be really slack because i dont.  Have not had one on the bike for ages, but will always remember when i first bought it ,and regoed it.The original idea of 3mth -6mth rego was to change the due date to suit your fieances so all your bills did not come at the same time e.g. christmas. Most of the  time when the new sticker came for the trailer or car it laid around fo ages before it was put on,sometimes it was put on to park on the street but not paid. No receipt number required on lable in nsw,so checking the lable did not tell you if your mate or work had paid the rego.kept the whingin neighbours happy but. Why would anyone let the aprentice at the workshop take your bike for a test ride-how do you know he has a current licence.Never any reason for a workshop to ride your bike!

A  decent shop would  not have to ride the bike to see if he had done the job properly. But to get back on track the rego sticker in nsw does not tell the workshop if the rego has been paid.

I registered my bike in December 2012.... The rta told me I have to show my label till re registering in Dec 2013..... Anything after 1/1/2013 does not need a label... They said until told otherwise i must display label until expiry this yr... Bummer I didn't want to have the stoopid thing hangin off my bike

Have not had a rego sticker on for over 25 years, been pulled over once in SA on the way to Alice and was given a mouth full, however that went straight over the top of my head.
Never have and never will display a rego sticker, ugly things, with technology the number plate is all that is required for a check, plus they check on the run anyway.

if you have a i phone you can get this app from i tunes for nsw rego and it will send you a reminder then rego is up .if you are going to drive/ride another person car or bike you can type in rego number and it will tell if it has rego or not

I though beauty scrap em whats the point... but IT acutally IS a good reminder, we took off on Xmas hollz and half way up the F3 wife suddenly spies that we are driving an un-registered car
with baby and 2 dogs in the holliday traffic oblivious! lol. with Auto # plate readers we lucky not to get pinged as saw several Pursuit cars around.

How good though these days.... bang onto ipad Done Allianz/RTA in seconds,
rang my mechanic mate he knocks up Pink Slip (over the phone yeh) and its lodged online too.

Did'nt even pull over! (and almost $2k later) we still on cruise control and all registered.

ANYWAY this is bike forum and I've never had a physical rego label on any motorbike, ever. (yes been pulled over ALOT too, no hassles)
    Cya boys!
