Rego stickers will not be required in NSW from Jan 2013. One less thing the cops can get us for.

Don't be so sure ,, if they send your reminder out fair enough ,, but how convenient , they hav'nt always come, i run a small buisness, so have a few vechilles to register , my car , wifes car , 3 work cars , trailer , 2 bikes ,, and if it don't come you better remember ,, cos they will get ya . without the stickers on the cars its easy to forget ,,, and you only have to drive past certain traffic lights and even cars i think and your gone .

The only good thing is it makes the bike look cleaner, you might forget to register it but it will look nicer when the popo sticker it for being out of rego,

much the same with the cage,

    i want them back.

still dunno how they seen that going the other way.??

Judging by the posts so far, there are obvious reasons for having them and the peoples choice for not having them.  I myself would like it still on the car, so, i will put a post it note inside the windscreen with the date and month on it. But i will definately leave it off Tigger, in fact I hav'nt got one on it since I took delivery 3 weeks ago, as i moved the number plate up and there was no room left for the label. I risk copping a $86 fine but i do keep it in the top box if needed. Am I bad?

    They did this in WA,

It is a complete and utter fuck up.

Now there are thousands of unregisted vehicles on the road and most of the owners don't even know they are driving unlicensed vehicles.

Works for me. If people want a sticker to remind them to renew they can easily put a reminder sticker on themselves. There's a marketable product for one of you entrepreneurial fellas!

hope it spreads to all states, I don't have a sticker to remind me to pay any other account.
may only cost 10 cents to produce the sticker but it would cost a lot more in administration of it.
Who actually checks the sticker to see if it is for the vehicle you are about to borrow any way. see sticker hop in and drive. Just leave the payment reciept and notice in the glove box of the cage. Bike shops will want to see it for sure when you drop it in for a service I would think.
seems less drama for the government more responsibility for the user.

you blokes are incredable, government conspirocy to score more money from fines, sit back and listen to yourselves

you are obviously smart enough to use your computer, let it remind you the renew date is close, a week away or the next day
for windows users, put a reminder in your email calender,
Mac users, get one in your calender, or in the reminders App.

About time, they should have done that years ago, I get a reminder in the mail to say rego is due so that is enough information.

Come on. This is good. No more rego stickers to display. They send out a reminder. If for some reason you don't get one, then work it out for yourself when the renewal is due. You don't have a sticker for your licence. You don't have a sticker for your house insurance. You don't have a sticker for your phone bill or internet service. Shit, what do you expect - a personal phone call from the RTA?

It justifies the need for plate recognition software and cameras in all patrol vehicles. It will also justify a need for an increased data base of available intel at the press of a button. (no more radio rego checks)...sure ya bike will look pretty but the crabs will know how pretty you are before ya pull your mean beans skull mask and matching german helmet off.
