Hi all. Need some tips on how to remove the primary backing plate. How do I remove the front crank gear and the clutch hub so I can replace the seal/gasket where the primary case joins the trans?

    Cheers

If it is a Twin Cam I used a 20mm Dowell (Broom Handle) cut to size. The Compensator is normal thread the Clutch pack is left hand thread. Both Comp and Clutch come off as an assembly. Then take off the Oil Tank ( Softail) Starter motor then the bolts holding the inner primary on. Remember to replace the gasket as well. Once the inner is off you can replace the seal and any other parts that require.

Hey guys, whoops forgot to tell you what sort of bike!!! Yep you're right Dave. Ive got the clutch hub pulling tool and I'm sure Ill be able to find a jam bar or make one up. Also have a manual and saw the the nut on the clutch hub is left hand thread. Is there any way to fix the main drive gear bush so it doesnt leak? Its not a huge amount of oil, maybe a drop or two when I stop so i'm wondering if its even worth it, thoughts?
