More bull from WA coppers, why dont they do some real police work like find the bastards that kick doors in and assault people in their homes or focus on the sex offenders that molest our children or people who set up camp on the causeway (i think they got bored and moved to another site) There is plenty of truth in the old saying " Loud pipes save lives". There is also plenty of real Police work to do other than hassle people with loud exhaust. Was all this brought on by the bullshit Channel 10 bikie show, what a load of crap. Use your rights dont vote for the current Govt that let this happen and dont watch channel 10 .

I have been hearing more and more people getting pinched for this, my concern is I don't want to go back to standard pipes as the fuel consumption on my bike is crap with them on. I currently have the V&H slip-ons and they are bloody loud, has anybody got any advice of something not as loud that will pass this test or at least not cause the pricks to pull us over?

The more you worry about it the more likely you are at getting picked up and stickered.

worry about it when and if it happens, other than that enjoy riding.

next month it will be another campaign for P platers in red utes or something like that.LOL

Try smartpartz.com for baffles that will reduce db by 10-12db across rev range with no noticeable drop in hp. I'm very happy with mine on V+H Big Shot Staggered. they do baffles for a heap of aftermarket exhausts

I doubt any aftermarket baffles will still make V&H pipes legal, I have V&H Big Shot Staggered pipes on my bike and love the sound although they are loud.

If the bike was to be stickered I'd just change the pipes to standard ones, the pits guys refer to the standard pipes as shelf pipes as they usually sit on the shelf in the shed until a bike is stickered whereby they are refitted so the bike can pass inspection.  As you can guess I've been there before.  Whilst I don't have any standard pipes there are guy's out there that will usually lend you a set if needed.

I believe in the motto "Loud Pipes Save Lives" it has worked for me on more than one occasion, live with your loud pipes.

In most instances I think the coppers have better things to do with their time and won't be spending too much times worrying about loud pipes, more media hysteria aimed at Harley riders.
