    Just remember that side mount plates are a big "pull me over" flag to cops. Plus the read fender must reach to 45-degrees from the axle line to be legal. You'll find that the Nightster/Iron/46 fender is already 'bobbed' as far as the law will allow. The only way to get around these two things is to bob the fender further but mount the license plate bracket to 'extend' the fender back to the legal limit. This, I believe, is what the Zero Engineering bikes have done for Australian compliance.
