We've had it here for a while...Two of us were riding with Lucky down through Frankston with VERY loud exhausts....Lucky has only mild sonics and doesn't wrap it on at all, AND was last, tryin to keep up....we were goin too fast to get our rego's, and he got the EPA notice.....He is STILL SO PISSED.....ha ha ha
Looks they need more dough over in the west....

started the bike this morning...held the db meter to it as it shows on the testing pdf.

89.4/5/6 as she idled, wifey gave it some, 90.7 - 91

thats V and H shorts with the baffles in 'em

plenty loud enough for me - might go to some bct's as the sound is lower, throatier as it were

yeah, I might even put some Big City Thunder QQ baffles into mine, lower note and supposed to be 10% quieter than the V&H baffles that are in there now; probably a good idea even without the noise rules, starting to feel my hearing going down the tubes now I'm past 50!

What dya reckon, are  long shots louder than short shots? never really compared 'em myself.

My quiet baffle just blew out the other day too, best I sort it cos it sounds like a bloody drag bike now.

So what's the noise limit then? I'm grabbin a meter off eBay. Fkd if I'm payin a $100 fine.

    Slap.

This is typical. Cops have no time for real police work as they're too busy busting peoples asses about small shit like this. Governments are hopless money grabbing grubs. I got broken into and it took the useless pricks 2 days to come out. Do 5km's over or make some noise and they spring out of the bushes. Maggots!

Hmmm, there's a reason for everything.

The cops don't really hate loud bikes,,,,   they're out in force and giving the truckies a hard time too,,,,, yet to be seen if

all road vehicles are going to be subject to this latest little blitz ?

As it turns out, the State budget has just been handed down and the premier looks like he put in some pretty big orders for monumental toys and thingz,,,  could be he wants a bit more revenue to pay for his dreams,,,, so guess what,,,, his old mate the commish  may have been asked to come up with an extra $31 Mil to contribute to the pot !

I was talking to a copper about loud exhaust systems at Frasers. He said he had one of the loudest and loved it. I ask what about the noise control if picked up and all he said he had a special excemption. Well we all know what that is.." I am a cop, boy's" and on the way he goes. Just crap.. one rule for most and excemption for the other small number. Need the loud exhaust for those deaf pensioners that cant see you as well, and those dick witts with their music pounding the windows out of the frames (While talking on the mobile). Just love to kick the doors of those hooded dicks when they just miss ya. LOUD PIPE SAVE LIVES!!! Because sure as shit no car driver actually sees ya on a bike.

I'll take a guess & say that about 70-80% of Harleys over here in the West have V&H on them. V&H are probably the 2nd loudest pipe out on the road behind BUB's.
So the licensing joints over here are going to be choked with Harley owners getting there stickers off. Wheres the brains in that!!!
Loud pipes save lives, have you ever heard of that statement Colin & Karl.

At least BUB's perform well haha....

    In my opinion of course.

AND you have to make an appointment at most pits now, up to 2 weeks in advance !!

Your right on there pud, picked my new bike up from frasers 4 weeks ago and got the same script ie: the 1000ks rule...ordered stage 1 gear online from states, did it at home, fuck the filth. Having said that, the cannington blokes were quick to help with other gear that I needed, don't go much on frasers parts dept, very slow to react, if it happened in my game you'd be down the road, I wonder how many other new owners they've turned off. Boss wants to get his finger on the pulse down there...imo, just 2 cents worth from an unhappy customer.
