I am plagued by the need to build a rigid bike, but one that is legal and registerable. Trouble is I want to do something budget oriented.
So, here's my question.
Can I build an ICV using a frame purchased from VPW and the workings of a complete compatible donor Sportster?
Furthermore, do VPW offer a rubber-mount compatible frame?
If the answer to both questions is 'yes', then is there any reason I can't buy a Nightster in the USA for about $6500 (going rate for an older stocky) and import it to be used as the donor bike?
If this is all feasible surely a rigid Sporty has to be a viable and very affordable project via this route?
Thoughts?
Damon, maybe try a pair of rigid struts on the rear of your Iron to see what a rigid is like to ride for while? TC
