How much diffrance in numbers do you guys think that diffrent dynos can or should run.
Not saying that my bloke is the best but he is well known for dyno tuning.
Was in the shop the other day and we were talking bout diffrent numbers with diffrent kits
and he said that lots of blokes come down from sydney saying there bikes are running good
numbers like 105s for example yet he puts in on dyno and is pushing to get near the 100 mark, said it happens
all the time. If this is the case i think its important to have a good tuner.
Has anyone had there bike on two diffrent dynos and got diffrent numbers?
Only ever got my bikes dynoed and tuned from the one bloke as always seem to do a good job. I'm not having nothing tuned at the moment so I don't give a fuck just found it interesting. Also bloke that does mine has dyno in an enclosed little room so don't know if temprature will be much diff from time to time. Maybe.
Can usually feel where I'm at riding, but do like to hear numbers as well
You don,t bring your printouts to a dyno shootout . Everyone , same day if possible , on the one machine .
i have dyno sheets from 4 different harleys all bike's are over 110 hp + dyna's, & backed them all up with 1/4 mile Drag racing time's & mph too verify, when i can get some help to work out this scanner operation from my children, 1st bike is a 103c.i. 07 model dyna , if you are interested
believe it or not she is all Screaming Eagle only , it's a bike that i used from Frasers showrooms @ the drags we just took off the blinkers & the mirror's i had modified the stock exh system stock mufflers & made my own air velocity stack no air filter i have the dyno sheet here reading 112 hp with 108 ft lbs torque , on stock tyre's best 1/4 mile time of 11.007 sec's @ 122.5 M.P.H. i will print the sheet on another post soon because i have 4 different Dyna's from Frasers Motorcycles all different motor size' s & @ 1 time or another all the 4 bikes won race's & qualified on # 1 spot in the Screaming Drag Racing series,
A dynos consistency should only ever be gauged against itself. A dyno is simply a tuning tool that you can adjust efficiency of fuel and ignition timing to whatever mark the tuner decides, which could also be totally wrong.
The only comparison a dyno is good for is if you start with 10 bananas and finish with 11 bananas you are in front of where you started. Never use them for anything but that. You must also respect that you have a human operator with a rubber tyre on a steel roller, so regardless if the dyno is correctly calibrated like mine is, they will still be flawed in their numeric reading. The trick is to use the same dyno!!!
