Hey everyone. I have a Blackline and was wondering...
Has anyone tinted the rear lenses on a Blackline or Nightster?
They both have the LED sealed rear light unit so changing the lens covers is out of the question. The only way of doing it i guess is to spray them with tint.
If anybody has done it, what did you use and how did it turn out?
Thanks, Jase.
This how to is good, however it is for the removable lenses at the front.
I bought front smoked lenses but the rear are non-removable. i.e - Fuck it up and it will cost $$$ to replace the whole units.
I'm ready to do it but i'm a slight bit scared. Just want to know if anyone has tinted the rear lenses by taping them up and doing them on the bike???
Cheers guys...
There is a thread on this elsewhere on the forum, with Punjabi Dude or whatever he calls himself now. He had heaps of trouble with spraying the lenses with one of the lens tinting paints you can get, and then more trouble with getting the stuff off after it looked crap. Based on his experience, I would leave them alone and not even try to tint the sealed units. The only guys who seem to be able to make tinting them work are professional painters, who mix up some clear with black tinit in it and spray the lenses. My two cents, TC
Hey bud.
Just bit the bullet and did it today. It came out really good. I'm happy with it and i'm pretty particular so i guess that says something.
I used VHT Nite-Shades and the paint is not very smooth or even but i think i knew deep down it wasn't going to come out 100% perfect.
Not a pro-shop job but it looks way better than the big orange hotplates!!!
