I have a 2011 FXST Softail Standar , Im not near my bike at the moment but a guy here reckons you cant replace the rubber pad on the rear brake pedal with anything else because the rubber pad is part of the brake pedal. I find this hard to believe, surely its screwed on from underneath or somthing... truth?

G'day Vetman, You can replace your rear brake pedal. Your right, it unbolts from the bottom. There are two sizes of brake pedal. Large for the FL softails,  and small for the FX softails. Only the small pedals fit on your model with the forward controls.  Hope this helps.

start with the assumption that anything is possible and go from there... have you sourced a small metal plate to replace it ? and considered how it will be attached ?    you may also find that replacing with an aftermarket pedal could be an easier exercise
