I think the 07 and 08 seats are pretty much the same, maybe some cosmetic difference, and anything is better than the standard seat.

I bought the "Sundowner" seat as a add-on extra when I purchased my RK new.

Very comfortable and even the cook likes it for long distances.

Before I took delivery of the roadking,my wife let me know that the stock seat wouldn't do,she wanted something more comfortable on long runs, after all, that was the main reason I was getting rid of my old faithful EVO Heritage.A friend had just bought a roadking and his wife had the same problem, that after 80km on the back, her back ached. He had bought a HD pillow look Touring seat, and his wife was now able to ride over 400km in a day with no back aches.Ine sit on it and the wife was sold, but we did get the wide pillow look pillion pad as well.Keeps the wife happy. It is just a seat I sit on when taking the wife out to me,I much prefer it when I am able to put my solo seat on,and am able to enjoy the room and freedom.

Yep, I did what groover did. I'd put a sundowner on my previous Lowrider, and it was great for pillion, so I did the same for the 07RKC.
It's really comfortable for both of us.

Yeah, Nobody makes a good point. NOTHING increases a pillion's enjoyment of the ride like a backrest. It gives a feeling of safety (not going to fall off). I've got a wide fixed backrest because I do a lot of pillion work and don't need to take it off, but I can see the benefit of a removable one.

Should mention that I also bought the so called quick release tall sissy bar with a wide back rest pad to match the Sundowner seat. Also got the rack that attaches to the sissy bar for the extra luggage from the the cook.

Makes it very easy when you just quickly remove the sissy bar/rack to give it that sort of streamline look.

Hey wannett, what do you think of the V/H Ovals? My 08 still has the stock exhaust.

    Hey wannett,

I had the same problem with my Rjays pack, and I solved it this way:

I cut the shoulder straps that came with the pack and threaded them thru the triangular buckles at the top. I re-used the clips that came with the straps, and crossed them over as shown. The clips are well below where the pillion's back is. The pack sits on the packrack (hard to see 'cos it's shiny). I've left the ends of the straps long (bound up with rubber bands) because I wasn't game to cut them short until I was happy with the setup. The pack needs a stretchy-strap to hold the back in place

I really like the Rjays pack because you can put so much stuff in it, and it's expandable. So I really wanted to find a way to make it fit.

    Hope this helps.
