Crank question

Hi guys, well I heard back from my local mechanic regarding bike and after being sent to engineering I need to replace the crank, pistons/rings, rod ends, gudgeon pins etc etc.

I'm about to start sourcing the items myself as the items brand new are pretty bloody expensive.

Does anyone know what range of year model Dyna crank I need to be looking for? My bike is a 2000 Super Glide Sport so should I chase 1999 - 2001? Not familiar with the inner workings unfortunately.

The bike was bored out to 95ci and had some pretty nice gear used throughout I'm told so I'd prefer to rebuild the engine than to replace it.

Shiiit....Did you sieze it up....it will cost you a motza, probably better off scorcing another motor to ride with and slowly work on the original....try scorcing parts on US e-bay, I was on there the other day and there are over 30,000 parts avail., sure to be something there...

why not get the crank trued and welded , if the rods are straight not twisted get them rebored least then with the crank no more problem of it slipping at decent revs

Shit, some good options there to look at. Got Ron from Ol School helping me out as well.

Jacks, brief story, bottomed out and split the sump, lost the oil and engine started knocking.

No need for the dynamite, it already blew up!

Putting it back together shouldn't be too hard, figure on using Liquid Nails, not only will it save me using bolts but it should also act as a gasket as well!
