Cheers Wozza, never thought about the sprocket. Everyone with upgrades keep talking about having to be doing over 120 to get it into 5th and 6th so shortening the gears up would make sense. Plus get a bit extra punch. Going to visit my local indy guy tomorrow and then the dealer on saturday for there take. There running a promo on stage 4's and 5's and just got a letter from Harley saying any upgrades i do in the first 60 days from purchase is covered in the 2 year warranty... they know how to keep you spending money...!

I don't mind the tallness of the gears as I like riding at that speed anyway I was just explaining the carerictics of the bike through its changes .. A smaller pulley would be cool for a town bike but I do highway rides to Sydney and back ... And it keeps up to the trafic lol . But it depends on riding style I think

matric that is a bonus if they keep your warranty. I am happy with the gearing on mine. it pulls strong from 2400, as i have just over a 100ftlb at that engine speed. that builds to 117 at 4k. she makes 108 ponies. it is a nice flat torque curve so she pulls well in most gears. but still well mannered to just cruise on. she will break traction when you want. all in all shit tins of fun

So true jon doe.. so many variables depending on what you are looking for. Appreciate everyones opinions. I guess it keeps things interesting having so many options. Starting to think i should have bought a near new bike so i would be more comfortable doing the spanner work myself and not have to worry about the warranty. Or just keep it simple for the first 2 years.....

Mines only 102 HP and 110 tq .. But 100fp at 1800 rpm from memory ..but like all they have to be ridden on cam or the money spent goes out the pipe .... My street glide has 255 cam. I wouldn't recommend it unles you don't ride hard

Yeh $$$$ I was lucky they had to warranty my cases so there was a tear Down for free before I started ... But I've had lifter trouble but only bleed down rate. I should put a stage 3 or 4 in my dresser that would be fun ..lol.

spot on, and lets see some of these "indy" builds that are running like the fatbob

the stage4 race kit is probably the worlds No.1 selling engine kit and the failure rate would be very small,

a cam change just doesn't produce 10HP on a bike, it may move the curve and produce a 2-3hp, it is common people putting in a cam and then moving onto something bigger, the dyno charts don't match the real story

So true but it's a rough indication. In the US. They have dyno shootouts but that don't mean they are good on the street.

Well said.   And some bikes just go.   And some don't with the same work. One on my buddies had a stage 4 old one then I think he said the new stage 4 had a had a different cam. Milder I think. Just as was said , to move his power into where he wanted it....think he got sick of riding to Melb in 4th lol.

To true, this is the fastest bike i've owed so far, to me it's a weapon, it's also a lot clearer now there's a lot faster Harley's out there.

The Prodyno team keep my feet on the ground and give me a reality check then it comes to builds and $ outlay, Thanks Hilly.

The forum can lead you down many roads, many different views. All roads lead to Rome, same get there faster than others.

What sort of HP & torque should I expect out of a stage 4 kit with V&H big radius exhaust?

Would different pipes make more power?
