Arrrh you'll have to come give me a run one day and see.
17th Aug is Australia's biggest all bike meeting held at Benaraby raceway. Excellent days racing with a good arty into the night. I'll be there.

Righto it might be a bit far for you. Quickest I've been on the dyna is a 11.47. I've ridden jap bikes into the 8's back in the day. I like running the big twin it's a good handful of fun. I'd like to go quicker.

Yep that's about what I'm getting mate.

hey Rans clicked over 30000 on my kit the other day, using a bit of oil but other then that it hasn't missed a beat.

not bad for under 12 mths old. SE lifters haven't shit em selfs yet

G'day men, totally different bike again since I got the tune smoothed out and dynoed.
You can feel it just roll on now, fucking awesome...
Chriso, good to hear brother, plenty of blokes bag this kit, but you can't argue with what we are getting mate....

Nope nothing wrong with stg 4 numbers most of the time.
But already a few posts back one owner says its using oil, not the first kit I've heard with that issue.
Problem they have is quality control and the apprentices they use to fit em up. Proper checking, machining and then assembly silences the naysayers.
But then again, I'm anti SE for most things performance.

Why is it that you don't like the SE stuff carbon????
I know a bloke with an s&s 106, and he is only making 110....
Aren't they supposed to be good performance engines???

S&s 106 kit doesn't come with heads, cams or larger throttle body for starters. Therefore cost is much cheaper. It's not a fair comparison. The s&s 106 kit gets you to 106 cubic inches and nothing else.

Whow + 1. Well said. More for less from non SE stuff. S&S does less dollars if you reachee and have the right builder.

ya know sometimes a slapped together motor will do everything right ,regardless of gaps an all da proto call of the rite way an da wrong way to build engine ,an run in dis way bla bla bla ive blatenly abused my engine from moment I left shop ,well u can only do so much wen in traffic or on highway and I wanted feel upgrade that I jus spent cash on ,and I knew strate away it was worth every $ and as far as oil use goes from all engines that ive altered be it car or bike to increase power an performance ,one must remember we are making engine rev harder therefore small oil use will happen and is not uncommon in high performance engines of any type ,even my stock 96ci used oil minutely but then I was on it all da time ,an yes u can put dis part wif dat part in building motor but try an tune it that's another story in oz we are pretty limited in experts on such matters as ive discovered in my quest of power in all sorts of engines be it car or bike jus my 2 cents SHINGLES

Had a bit of a smile through your story Shingles you found out there were lots of cheating going on in those days with production bike racing and they brought non complied bikes in from both South Africa and NZ that were factory hotrods. Most were crashed or turned into superbikes but the odd one got regeod........

well 103 stg iv is now 5500klms old and just been serviced by dealer M&W gold coast an finally have screaming eagle shift light & tacho working ,bikes going a treat still even though its ridden like its stolen. Have been noticing oil loss probably due to abuse by rider hope everthing is ok inside ,maybe I should have run in better I always warm engine 4 quite a while

as told by workshop ,I mean bike runs perfect goes like hell took 4 ride 2 day on hwy sittin on 120-140 and the occasional wind her out which luckily was quite a bit ,hit 200ks couple a times and cracked 160-180 in quite a few places .Road I was on allowed this easily lots of straights and long flowing bends kept vigililant about blue got new grippier footpegs

same as hand grips avon brand cushioned rubber in rings with raised grippy texture best ive tried yet and ive tried lots and my screen is another thumbs up for me ,makes ride bearable not getting ripped backwards like I was ,also fatboy bars help immensely with comfort in arms and wrists ,rode 160klms 2 day at a fair rate of knots and broke all rules o

dear ,arrived home and after few mins checked oil and level had dropped from just over 2 a little under line nothing dramatic but level did change by 3/16 " but pretty extreme acceleration and high speed was the order of the day no limp wrist here ,I demanded a lot of machine so some of its blood was given in the run 4 my enjoyment of bike ,will keep a

vigil eye on oil level ,never used that much b 4 maybe not correct assessment by me but done same procedure every time ,nothing wrong with performance or engine idling or any

hesitation when u crack throttle open ,anyway that's the latest info on engine mods and how motor is after 5500klms not many u mite say but theve been very hard ks so if it starts 2 goin downhill fast its only my fault I guess SHINGLES

Shigles get some .010" oversize CP pistons, bore the cyclinders, set up the squish with a .030" HG, work on setting up the compression to suit the cams fix the oil consumption and then hang the fug on

Hey Shingles have you got "tru trak" or "sputhe" stabiler set up fitted??

Just on that oil use thing too, Mine uses around 3-400 ml between 4000k services which is better than my XR which uses maybe 5-600ml for the same k's.

    • well mate i only have myself as the tryu track device ,and just that steering damper this bike of mine u can toss it around like a big single ,man ive pushed mine in testing tryed all different styles ridin bike leanin rite off , an grippin tank sittin low an legs in ,or the just hop on an just sit an feel comfortable and bike will still perform flawlessly ,they change direction instantly due 2 16' wheels its what moto gps used to use ,you can be into it an see pothole just move bars quickly like ,and its not turning bars im on about ,,its a i   flick sorta lift up one end push down on other ,ive got fatboy bars on my fatbob ,coz they come back 2 me not me,not  reachin out like ya got carrot up ya arse with those drag bars an feeling this is not rite so i changed bars and transformed bike 2 feel u jus plop into seat lift arms up a bit an fuk your on da grips ,and bars higher an bike even more flickable also hav perspex screan bolted 2 bars it works a treat was down on top dual headlights not doin a great wid break down there so i loosened brackets on bars an tilted backwards then undid adjustment wingnuts that let screan rotate down or up now bottom of screan at top of tripple tree about inch up ,of i goes on test at hwy  speed an rode 60miles  stopped had a beer looked at perspex screen an rolled a few things over in head ,1 yes by raising 2 as far as i get it 2 raise an still function as defector well it does just that its sticking uot a tar bit on arms that hold screen ,i had 2 hav screen out far as poss 2 allow in an out screen adjustment ,an doesnt even wobble around at high speed ,can adjust screen wen ridin jus reach out undo big wingnuts a bit until u can go in at bottom or in at the top who wouldave bielieved that this little handlebar screen thingy actually work best 179 buks ive spent ,the other night had 2 ride 100ks an only dark sunnys ,so of i goes couple ks along i jus took glasses off put inside jacket jipped bak up an rode homeand was ok only little eye waterin sat on 120-140 all a way no glasses thats how minimul wind  was behind screen and bike stable even at 200k ,so al is stable in my bike an handlin around bends exceptional if its big long sweepers jus get a line an it will hold all the way ,i do have more control coz bars are higher and on 6 1/2 curfed risers with solid bushes in bar triple tree mounts so as bars not wibly wobly so ive made some changes 2 stop windblast an ive succededd at a very small cost ,u can jig around tilting screen in an out i do it wen im blastin along little tricky but aint stoppin leanin screen further bak at top 2 u actually sends wind over ya head little on sides ,i know scren was 2 go down over top of duall lights but wasnt givin comfort i was looking for so fuk it wat if i do this  it dont look rite do i really care ,coz i no wen im ridin im the saddle things are less windblownSHINGLESmost
