Hi guys have just read this thread from start to finish. Lots of interesting stuff for a first time harley owner.

Love reading bout mods that work or don't as I have only ridden 3 harley and 2 were fatbobs so don't have a lot of experience to judge against.

pato1967 what did ya do in the end. Did you get a fatbob?  I am 5 11 and 85kgs and after 10 mins felt like I had been riding bob for years.

feeling the power of the stock bike and how much improvement some subtle changes can make I am now researching a/c and tuners. Like the look of the tts system but am a dope as far as mechanical goes so wanna make sure I can't stuff the bike up by what I do.

    Cheers

Plus 1 for the Ricor Intiminators.

Easy to install, will make your bike feel like it has an expensive front end and not a Harley one, all at 5 to 10% of the cost of a front end swap. Bike hardly scrapes now even on roundabouts and not much brake dive either. Flows around corners like a bike is supposed to, will find yourself going round curves with a lot more confidence and going looking for quiet winding roads in the hills on the weekends. To try them out, went over a speed hump at 40 km/hr and didn't pound the bike or myself, did the next two at 50 km/hr and 60 km/hr, because couldn't believe the difference. Only need basic tools to install them. Read the Ricor website and other people have had similar experiences after putting them in. If I bought another Harley it would be the first thing done to it. Highly recommended.

    Sweet looking bob Pato1967

do you have the dyno sheet

could you post it or post numbers up.

Just curious what a stock bob 103 puts out to what your mods get.

Did you ride the bike stock first then get mods done.

Are the improvements worth the $ in your opinion

as bob owners we outnumber all other new harley owners.

Opps gonna get some stick for the last sentence hhehehehe

    cheers

Might be a bit stiff as I put progressives in as well and didn't shorten the spacer to allow for the intiminators. Had to push on the top cap to start the threads! It works so well compared to a stock bike, like it at the moment and the clearance is so much better. Hardly ever grind anymore and the front end only seems to start sagging just before brake lockup, which is pretty good as there is over 300 kg of bike trying to squash the forks. Will have some spare time near Xmas and have a tinker then, but its so much of an improvemnt, I am happy with it and don't want to lose the cornering clearance. It's only an hour to pull it apart and adjust it, might even try it with the stock springs back in, or just to drop the front end a tad to quicken the steering. Used Bel-Ray 5wt oil, Ricor advises something else but there wasn't any in the pack, so used what was available, might try what they recommend next time. Can't remember what my old '54 had in the front forks but have read a few times that Harley has still not changed the fork design since the first forks in the 40's or 50's and would not be supprised if this was correct. Read somewhere the newer touring Harleys have something similar to Ricor or the Gold Valves in the forks but don't know for sure, would have to be an improvement as they are even heavier than a basic Twin Cam.

I rode a 96CI stock but not the 103. biggest difference was the sound, stock pipes are pretty quiet compared to the V&H. dyno run max power 75.1, max torque 93.57. I found there was a bit of a difference between the HD mapping and the dyno mapping. more usable power in the lower rev range. power diff from the HD mapping to the dyno was +3 and +1 torque.

I really like the V&H pipes, look good and sound way better than the stock pipes. I also like the HB but probably more looks than anything else. I am not sure that I could tell the difference between stock and HB.

I got the mods done from new, good discount offered by the dealer as an incentive to buy up front.

Sounds like a great bike to ride

i went slipons cause I didn't like the stock exhaust either but didn't want too much attention straight away

sounds really good until I am next to any mates bikes with V & H or similar then you notice the difference

will do me for a while and the neighbours appreciate it hehe

Hb wise I like the look of the stock cover but a mate has the hyper charger and it sounds awesome soooooomaybe I might go that way

soo many decisions and so much money to spend cant decide which way ffirst

gives me something to research at night
