What should the top speed of a stock 2009 FLSTC Heratige be. Has anyone got an anwer?
probaly pushing 170-180 i reckon
6th gear with screen , bags and fully loaded wouldnt get past 175 in 6th ...... and i tried ...... for a long long time .. only got above 180 when slip streaming past semi's .
plenty of throttle play still left at that speed , but the bike actually wouldnt go any faster ...
i suspect it would have done better in 5th , but not by much
thats mine , but depending on mods , whether or not you are loaded up , etc , will depend on what people have achieved. but you would want to be on roads like this ..... it doesnt like corners or bumps at that speed .
There were three of us having a crazy moment in the rain, 2x Heritages and one fatboy, both heritages with thundermaxes & high flo kits...dual lane highway where my gps recorded 192, (with plenty left)..no idea what the speedo registered as I was too buisy scanning 1/2k ahead....we were silly pricks, I had the only windscreen and....I am now perfectly comfortable around 120 MAX,(most of the time) as things happen very quickly at that speed and handling is shit making corners not even a consideration...ride safe guys and gals.
Gotta say though, the speed limit across Texas is 80 MILES/HR...it's fab...
...
sorry double post..

Cheers Bluey, your right mate, last time I seen the Doc for a once over, he called me in after the test results came back. He looked at them, then at me and he said: Erny there are five major things that can kill you... You have seven! Bahahahah! Then I went home & started looking for a Heritage on line! Fuck him!
Stay away from them fucken doctors Erny, never got anything nice to say mate
When I was young and stupid every car and bike I ever owned it was the "done" thing to see how fast it would go, but now I am Older and still stupid, speed doesn't really matter to me any more. So long as it will do my 100 to 110 kph with the occasional burst to 140 passing cars that suits me fine.
I'm enjoying life too much to be in a hurry
I didn't buy a Harley for speed anyhow. I bought it for cruising and watching the scenery as I ride. I also bought it for style. I bought it for........well it's a Harley Davidson.....You can't beat that!
You're right Erny about the license. There are too many radars on the road now, and with my luck they will be just around the corner when I screw the throttle up over the limit.
And just riding a Harley is a reason to get pulled up without speeding adding to the problem.
