So this is fucked, surely some other fuckers have run into this...
I took a ride up to my parents place about 2hrs away up a winding range and several lenths of 100km/hr straights with a few turns and back again...
Fuck this, I get about 45mins into it and my nuts go numb, I get pins and needles in my arse and I have to pull over and stop for a sec. The minute I get of the bike I get a blood-rush to my nether regions and walk around for a smoke's-worth and its all good again for another 45 mins or so...
I reckon its my stock-standard solo seat on the Iron but this is just stupid engineering if that's the case. I'm a relatively short fucker, average height of a woman at 165cm with mid mounted pegs and I've tried all the tricks: change posture, spread legs, move feet back to the ball of the foot on the pegs or perhaps forward so its the heel etc.
I can't stand numb nuts on a ride like this and it's ONLY a cpl hours...
Is this normal or am i doing it wrong?
Cheers,
Shred.
Nice feedback, alot to think about!
Warblade, just to clarify, I'm not from Thailand...
I do think perhaps a harder seat would be better, strangely enough. I desperately want a spring solo seat thinging that it would alleviate the issue being not only sprung but more narrow and kinda "arse-y" i guess. Less pressure on the crotch holding all the wieght of a tubby fucker on a bike. But damn, $300 odd for the seat is expected but $350ish for the bracket to fit the seat is just mindboggling! I kinda wish I changed the seat when I financed the bike and tied it all up in the one contract rather thant trying to explain to the Minster of War and Fincance how I should justify such a setup because of my balls, which she has not much understanding of except don't whack em!
Interesting feedback on the pillion pegs, I didn't get any due to making my rego more expensive by about fuck all but still, its the principle!
Shred, I just put a 48 seat on my Iron. Got it from another forum member, but they are about $150 new from a dealer I think. It's lower than the stock seat, narrower and yet better padded and no less comfortable. The best part is you could try it out by going to a dealer and sitting on one. Just another thought. TC
That's not such a bad idea tbh and I'll do that!
Really though, I have no issues with the stock Iron seat unless I take the bitch on a longwinded ride where I spent 40mins-1hr on 100km/hr straights with only a few turns...
It's not that I have such massive balls of of steel (thank's for not pointing that out), it's just I seem to be sitting on em for too long at a time...
/shrug!
