1950 FL Police siren

     Hello to all,,

       any help at all on how to mount the siren on a 1950pan police bike would be great ... have the siren but no hardware to mount it all l know is the more pressure you apply with your left heel the louder it gets any ideas??  cheers for now john

    depending on year some mount to the scalloped out part in the front guard, & some other spots, pacific hd. use to and may still have all that stuff & the know how..been 15 years since l had one ...they had the correct guards at one time as well....

     hello chopaweeza, thank u for the reply , l have the siren  and it looks pretty used ,its really worn where the shaft comes together when applied to the tyre but overall in really good conditoon ,it sounds great when you crank it up on the carpet ,,u can hear it a block away a little like a ww11 siren its bloody awesome  but l;am stuck on how to mount it on a 50 fl rigid l have seen photos on later bikes but cant find a gen setup for a rigid

     l know there is one out there somewhere just got to find it once again thx for the help

     thank you tc that is truely great , looks like there is multiple mounts for the sirenbb one being finger ,two beig heel operated third being hyd l have no idea what that belongs to  but it is still a great reference point ....l know this is a big ask is there any chance of a parts list that goes with the numbers .....number 40 has got me stumped a hyd line for a siren.????? go job tc ,, regards john

    number 40's the rear hydraulic brake line..must be showing the 58 up siren..

    John, the first picture below is from How to Restore Your Harley-Davidson by Bruce Palmer and the second one shows the siren on the same bike. Sorry the pictures are not very good but I think that is caused partly by my scanner.

    The info below is from my 1950-57 H-D parts catalog:

     

    I don't know much about sirens but there seem to be a couple of different ones and apparently there was also one built during the war which was model number Type 38-R. Which siren do you have?
