Hi all, Well Ethel let me down!
first off she is a 01 FXD carb Twinky 88, runing a Crane Hi4 tc ignition. i was riding her last weekend and she was flying & all was perfect.
I get home check her over as i normally do, & front non stock pipe is broke in half, between mount and head, i unbolt that falls apart crack is right around tappered muffler. no worries, get out the stock pipes that have sonic slip on's, few bits missing but i get them. put it all on but while putting rear nut to the lower head bolt on rear pipe i drop the nut and the bugger disapears between gearbox top & starter . but everything else fine & as i was entered to race next day Saturday & it was friday night when i got stock pipe on. i went to fire her up, to heat up system & test ride, then i would retention everything next morning. but the bitch would not start, she cranked over strong but would not fire. & i see this red Icon light on on left side between 40KPH & 60KPH & slightly to the right of the two speeds but on top left side of speedo. it stays on does not flash. i pulled plugs put them into there leads layed them on the heads turned her over & no spark. took plug out float bowl plenty of fuel. took filter off & excellerator pump squirts fuel. so its ignition. but what part? thats what i need to know?
thanks for any help.
check that you have not squashed the H1-4 wires on the front pipe mount or any where else or any loose wire's on coil etc, the H1-4 has & idiot red light on the unit itself on the module this should flash when you crank her over if not she is stuffed , make sure you earth the spark plugs when testing or you will backlash the system,
so she is called COLD ETHEL @ the moment, ( Alice Cooper song

You want to unplug connector 6 and measure it there.
hi John i stuffed up Speedster would be right on the money ( crank sensor), just put a new 1 in her would be best as she has done a lot of work, i realy miss you on sat @ the races as i top qualified but did not get my by run as even number in the field 9 entered , 8 raced bugger , the Dyna ended-up doing a 10.055 sec pass @ 135.47 mph & i broke out on my dial in of 10.150 sec ,

Thanks for that Speedster, & thanks to you & Bob for your help.
i have not had time to get to order a new sensor. probably will today.
Bob thats a great tme & speed from that dyna m8. not far off a 9, if you had more pass's on it you would have ran 9's. what was your 60ft times?
