Fitted a 210 50 17 metzler rear tyre to my 07 softail standard it has done 1800 kms on this tyre and it is worn down to the wear
indicators in the middle and square or cupped this tyre is rooted iam going through a shit fight with my west oz metzler dealer at the moment
this tyre is unsafe any one else have problems with the 210 on a 200 rim .
shit thats a quick run out, sticky compound = good in wet but poor tyre life, good luck with the dealer, would like to know how ya get on mate.
Mainey 88 metzler dealer wouldnt come to the party saying the 210 marathon is a soft compound sports tyre not a long wearing tyre
sounds like crap to me local bike shop said they will fit a knew 200 dunlop on for half price and no fitting charge best i can do i reckon .
and no i dont do burnouts.
Judgeing by the information given,I would suspect that the problem isn't just the compound.I would think that if the tyre is a sports bike tyre then the load rating on the tyre wouldn't suitable for the weight of a Harley. This would also explain cupping etc.as the tyre carcass would be deformed. The amount of heat generated in an overloaded tyre can destroy a tyre very quickly.Probably lucky you haven't had a blow out or an accident.
nobody
screw the crap metzler give me back a Dunlop the tyre in question was ment to be for cruisers so i think its metzler and the bike shop fault for fitting it
lucky i dont smoke up whats left of it in the shop.
mainey 88 the metzler was a great handling and a smooth riding tyre got a knew dunlop fitted yesterday for 150 bucks they are going to show the tyre to the metzler rep
while i was there the mitchelen rep said they were going to have fatter tyres for harleys soon something else to try in the future .the reason i change my dunlop in the first place was because i got a half a pair of small scissors through the tyre .
