Hi all...Im suspecting my Compensator is flogged.

First of all,That clacking noise at start up has gotten worse,To the point people look at me and wonder what the fuck is wrong with my bike.

Big clunk into first gear from neutral.Maybee a little worse than before.

Bit of a vibration around 2-3000 rpm.

Lately on take off if not quite reved enough[but not labouring] a knock knock knock untill clutch out with some more revs.Take off with good revs no knocking.

On idle with quick blip of throttle without bringing revs up,same knock knock knock.

Other than that the bike runs fine. With only about 8500klm.

Yep, as Kiwidave suggests, I wouldn't be listening to it any more and wondering.

Off with the primary cover and check the compensator nut first up, and if it's torqued correctly, inspect the compensator itself and chain adjuster.

8500 K's, still under warrenty ? If so, hello Mr Dealer,,,,,,,,,,,,

The nut has more than likely come loose. Seems it was luck of the draw with those. I ended up putting a SE Comp kit into mine which sorted out the Knock and clacking on startup and when taking off. The clunk is the Comp bottoming out due to the amount of torque from the motor. If you get a noise that sounds like scraping on idle when the bike is leaning you will find that the nut is touching the inside of your Primary case. Also sometimes your chain is caught between 2 adjustments. When idling it is slapping against the top inside of your case. A quick hard accel to about 40kph followed by Decel and rear brake will adjust your chain up a notch and take away the slapping. Do that a couple of times and see if that improves things. However if you are going to take off your cover then adjust the chain manually.
