Hey guys,
Yesterday i tried removing my battery so I could diss-conect the trickle charger and everytime I'd get the battery out the alarm would go off. I ended up getting it off bu could someone tell me why it does that? And how to stop it from happening next time?
Cheers.
Warblade's right.
you gotta disarm the alarm before you can do anything cause the alarm has it's own battery and sposed ta scare off the burglers even if they try to disconect it.
I did mine by whipping the main fuse out when I turned the bike OFF.
So switch on and wait for it all to come to life,
Turn it off,
Whip out the fuse before the alarm has time to arm,
It's now safe to disconnect the battery.
The above worked for me on my 2011 Dyna.

Had the same experience and the HD mechanic said just let it scream until the back up battery goes flat. Doesn't take long.
