Hi there
Changed the oil and filter, trans and primary yesterday and while checking over the bike I noticed the rear brake pads are getting down. Don't need to replace them just yet, but having replaced pads on cars without a hassle I was wondering if someone can give me a bit of a guide on any special precautions to take with the ABS in particular, and retracting pistons extra brake fluid in the master cylinder etc. bikes just clocked 8900 kms.
After reading a few posts here I'll probably replace them with the Lyndall Z+ for Touring.
Cheers
abs means that there will be a little bit of fluid that wont necessarily drain out . After switching fluid ( i personally do a reverse bleed ) go out and activate the abs to flush out the old fluid , and do another bleed , maybe a 3rd time for good measure.
BTW There is brake fluid "especially developed" for abs ( same/similiar boiling point as the usual ) .... so why ? i dont know ...
as for lindall pads , I found them to be great for reducing dust , but imo they dont work as well when cold .
my bad . failure to read correctly has happened more than once . i will go sit in a corner
changing pads on abs is same as non abs.
