Really appreciate you taking the time to help  and Thanks for the phone call Gregg - you gave me  the missing link to the puzzle ..

The "key" was not the model  number of the battery in the fob ...but the voltage - needed to be 3volts not 1volt like the one I swapped in there to check it .... all good now cheers!

No problem to do any recent Harley . 2007 and up a speciality , but earlier bikes would be no problem.

Some are worried about " warranty " which is fair enough I understand that.

Personally , I have NEVER worried about warranty , as i service my own bikes from minute 1.

Any "warranty" issues i have had , only a couple of items over 18 years and across 10 motorcycles , were resolved under warranty anyways !

If you're that worried about it , and that's fair enough , then get your 8000 and 16000 done at the dealer and do the 4,000 yourself .

    PM me for contact details

Am looking at upgrading to a '13 street bob soon. Want to install pipes, air intake and tuner, was thinking the SE. Is this something you can help with? Great to have someone offering newbies hands on help.

    To Cam

Making V&H quieter WITHOUT blunting the performance ?

I'm working on that right now with my own " V&H Big Shot staggered "

I'll post up when I'm done , results both good and bad.

    To Riggers

Frasers won't install all that stuff for you until the 1600 service apparently , " company policy "

Apparently the " OTHER MOB" in Cannington will so ask before you sign up

    Hi Gregg,

I have another 3 weeks to wait for my new Fat Bob and its coming with the SE Tuner etc installed from the get go. Bought from Perth HD, not Frasers...

Quietened off a set a short shots...gotta say I reckon they r crap pipes anyway. Horrible loud thin sound.

Stuff all back pressure so in went baffles and stainless steel ribbon mesh..certainly dropped the tone a good bit. Took a all the decel pop out of em.

    What ya reckon Retroman?
you no about this stuff way more than me, was that the right way to go to increase the back pressure and performance in pipes like this, as well as dropping the noise a bit?

Hi Gregg, Thanks for the service today, checked levels when I got home and it was spot on. Bike is running great and you make it all look very easy. Definitely have the confidence to give it a go myself next time. Awesome to find someone willing to pass on their knowledge. Keep up the great work and if you want to learn the right way to service your bike give Gregg a buzz.

    Cheers, Riggers

To Riggers , no worries mate.

As said before Sportsters are not my area of expertise per se, but all went well.

Mobil 1 V-Twin full synthetic in " both holes " , 1 quart in the primary/clutch/gearbox and (almost) 3 quarts in the engine oil tank.

To all the others that have asked , just PM me and we'll arrange a mutually convenient time.

Got my 2007 Fatty done today, Serviced and stage 1 tuned <img src=" align="absMiddle" src="/DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif" />  only 250 for the lot... Gregg is a realy friendly and very helpful bloke.
I have learned loads and got heaps of tips for the next service.
Gregg even lent me a pair of clear glasses to ride home with as it was dark when we finished and i only had sunnies on me.
I strongly recommend anyone in Perth who wants to be able to service their own bike, or just to know a bit more about there bikes
upkeep to give him a call.
Thanks again Gregg mate and sorry you missed half of your daughters event. Will drop the glasses etc off tommorow mate.
    All the best.......
    Tony...

Tony thanks for the good rap. Glad to be of service mate , good to meet you. Sorry for the delay in that mate, but you get that !

Tony's bike got 1Quart of Elf primary oil , 1 quart of Amsoil GL-5 Severe gear oil in the tranny  , and 3 quarts of Amsoil 20W50 full synthetic in the engine oil tank .  (Plus a new black Genuime HD oil filter of course !)

That's the brands of oil I had on hand.

I had just serviced another 2006 Streetbob on the same day and had used the last of my Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W50

Glad to say, I am now on the list of the many who have now been to see Greg to get their pride and joy serviced, and will definitely be back to see him again in the future for anything I need done on the bike.

In my opinion we are lucky to have someone here in WA offer their knowledge and experience to one and all.....and also not rip you off for it!

If your thinking of giving Greg a call,  then i honestly can't recommend him highly enough, go ahead and do it, you'll learn a lot, and also go away knowing your bike has had been properly looked after.

Top job done on bike today, full oil change and clutch adjustment, all explained well, with good advice on how to do things the right way so you don't cross thread bolts, pinch seals, etc etc... with tips you would only learn from years of experience..... Ensuring (fingers crossed) trouble free riding.

Cheer's again Greg, I'll be seeing you again in the not to distant future no doubt!

    Muzz
