Recieved my Gorilla Alarm Paging system from Custom Cruisers in the USA. last week, it arrived well packaged & undamaged. My 24 year old son Jess turned up to give me a hand fitting it up to my 09 Heitage custom. After pulling off the rear & front seat we realised there wasn't anywhere that we could fit the five tone siren module as there wasn't enough room  or clearance under the seats. After a heated debate with my headstrong but very Savvy son I relented & agrreeed the only place we can put it was behind the right hand side saddlebag, mounted up high in the front corner, between the bag & guard providing as much protection from rain, accesess & eyesight as possable. The unit comes with two sided velcro aheisive backing tape as well as a metal galvinized bracket if you have the room to fit it! There was no room to fit it with the supplied bracket so we used the Velcro tape and drilled a couple of small holes in the pastic part of the saddle bag & used a couple of plastice ties as extra insurance aginst it comming loose. We then placed the Ariel module up the other end of the saddle bag using only Velcro as it is very small. It fitted very nicley and like the siren it was well & truly out of sight, but very accesible to the radio waves for arming & disarming with no interferance whatsoever. After connecting all the plugs together we taped all the connections using the best quality tape & to make doubley sure all is water & weather proofed I insisted that we heat shrinked all the tapped connrections as well. This system at $275.00 comes with two Pager transmitters. The standard unit at a guess is just over 25mm long  & a little less wide, it has three buttons, Lock, unlock, & emergency button that will set off the siren up to half a mile away. The other module is about  50mm long & 25mm wide with a LED screen with a picture of a bike. If someone touches your bike, the sire gives a waring chirp for a better discription, instanly this shows up on the LED sceen advising you where the bike was touched. Remove the bike off the side stand on to the vertical & the mercury switch Velcroed & tapped to the back of the fuses cover is tripped & all hell brakes loose. Again the pager either alarms or vibrates (Depending on your choices) to notify you that the bike is being fucked with, as well as a display on the LED. Last but not least, if the system detects any power drain as in hot wirering it will set the alarm off again. It also comes with a little red LED warning light where you are supposed  to mount it visably as a warning to people & a visual aid in arming & disarming. I delcined adding this feature to my bike, as I explained to my son Jess, I don't want to warn anyone, I want the alarm, & my 357 mag

to come as a complete suprise! Am I happy with it? Fucking oath, I would bet a bike thiefs life on it!

PS. The system is self contained, all that is required after mounting is to connect all the male & female plugs togther, and  connect the balck & red wire to your battery, Even a monkey would be able to fit this unit! It also has a multatude of menu options as to the choices of siren tone, sensativity has seven levels, etc. very easy to prog you don't have to be a rocket scientist! ... 'Cheers!

No Dicko, no alarm when I got it, although it does have a FOB ignition unit!

Hi guys. I also thought the factory fob from 07 onwards was to deactivate the factory alarm when you are in range of the bike, aswell as serve as a imobiliser unit. This was the case on my 07 Fatty and 09 Muscle. My Heritage had the push button fob for the alarm which i had the dealer install in 04. Sorry Crazy, i'm not tellin you how to use your bike, but if it chirped when you bumped or moved it a bit when your fob was not near, then it did have the factory alarm too.  If not, It may have been in transport mode all this time! Hope this helps, If not then i'm confused..

I agree with the gorilla system as a beauty, I had it on my Triumph trophy way back in 97 and it was great then! It only had one setting then.

Ahh forgetaboutit. Too hard this one, i'm still confused. I know you said your fob didn't have a button, and i know the gorrilla ststem is independant of the hd system, but what i meant was did your bike chirp before you fitted the gorilla system. If it didn't then maybe it wasn't working properly because they all had factory alarms from 07 onwards If it was an aussie spec import. If it was a US spec import like through Mr Chopaweeza, then the alarm system was optional. Or maybe your alarm was in transport mode which turned the siren off. Look it up and do some research and you will see what i mean. I'm not pulling your leg Crazy Erny, i'm just tryin to share the knowledge that i personally have after owning three H-D's and waiting for my fourth.. And like i said, im not telling you about your bike personally but what these bike in general should be doing. That's why i think DICKOBIGFISH was confused about  your alarm aswell.

Anyway I'm glad your happy with the new alarm, But personally i think you now have two! It's all good.

    This is what H-D says:-

    H-D® Smart Security System
The H-D® Smart Security System offers automatic self-arming and hands-free disarming for vehicle electronic security functions. The Hands-Free Fob communicates directly on its own unique and individualized frequency with the Hands-Free Security Module and Antenna. Attach the Hands-Free Fob to your vehicle ignition key ring. As you upright your vehicle or switch the ignition on, the Hands-Free Fob will communicate the Security System "disarm" command allowing you to start your vehicle. After riding your vehicle, park and switch the ignition off with your key. Within 5 seconds the Security System will automatically self-arm, disabling your vehicle starter, ignition and electronic fuel injection (EFI). The rider may also disarm the system by keying a previously entered personal code on the turn signal switches. A flashing status indicator informs the rider that the Smart Security System is armed or disarmed. This system allows configuration to include the Transport Mode or Extended Storage Mode.

    Fits '07-'12 VRSC™ (except VRSCF), Dyna® models and '07-'10 Softail® models (except FXCW/C).

Hey FL, you have finally hit the nail on the head, Mine was an ex California Soft tail Heritage privately imported from US. The HD alarm was optional on my model! Hope this finally clears up the confusion! Cheers... Crazy Erny.
