my 1600 service cost me $360 from memory at Harley City, I nearly fainted cos the apprentice does it anyway and Nico from Nicos Customs in Kyabram charged me $250 for the 8000, he has been working on harleys over 30 years.

Thanks for getting back to me iv'e change the oil primary and transmission myself, but I haven't done anything else, I  have a service manual and i also have just ordered a oil scavenger system. I was quoted $ 380 for the service WTF, I think this has given me the motivation to do it myself.

Seriously... Do it yourself. You can take your time and do it all over the course of a week if you need to. The result will be...

You will take more care and pride with your ride than anyone else
    You will save some coinage
You will get to understand the your ride, and what makes it tick
You will know in the future when something doesn't feel right
You will get satisfaction knowing the job was done right the first time

    Just my 02.
