Has anyone else noticed that the quality of the chrome just sucks on the newer bikes.  My 08 softail has had a new front spoked wheel replaced under warranty as the chrome on the hub bubbled.  Well went to clean it today as got caught in the rain a couple of weeks ago and lo and behold the spokes are all rusty.  I don't mean little spots but heavy rust all over.  Just sucks.  Only 14000Ks too.

Maybe due to the greenie factor mate.

Western companies are being held accountable for the toxic chemicals used for for chroming, anodising etc.

The good old chroming that you are thinking of was called Blue Chromecand had a layer of brass underneath the chrome plating giving it a stronger bonding effect and a brilliant finnish.
