Hi everyone, recently got my full licence. Im planning to sell off the little vstar250 and stepping up to a Sportster

I dont do too much riding - I mainly use the bike for comuting to work, shops, friends house etc

I work 2km from home, so I ride the 'long way' to purposly get a ride in beforhand. I think the Sportster will be suited for my quick short rides (and Im a pretty short fella too) as Im not too keen at the moment for heading out for looong day trips

On the look out for a 2nd hand one. After a year or sooner i plan to personalise it as such like the pics I put a little way down.

My main question for the Sportster guys is.....What advice can you lend on upgrading a 883 to 1200. Whats fitting of parts and re-tuning like??

Welcome Hoppy. Search the sportster section of the forum for 883 to 1200 and 1250 upgrade info. Plenty of good advice on there. TC

Welcome Hoppy it depends on how much you want to spend on a base model sporty before you start playing.

Sportster are great, you will love it.  Get something after a 2004 easier to source parts for.   You got any more photos of that green bobber looks good.  Chop away.

its your right wrist , NOT the size of the engine , that gets you into trouble .  If you are already thinking you will upgrade to a 1200 , then just buy the damn thing .  It wont bite , and you will very quickly get used to it

    you owe me 2 cents
