Hi all,
Thought I would take you through what i'm currently doing - loads of fun! So I am currently disconnecting and removing all of the Molex plugs that were cluttering up space under my tank and making it extremely difficult to fasten it down properly. Thanks to Redned for advice on how to undertake this project so far things are going well. I've removed the Molex plug that connects the Speedo and am in the process of joining the connectors and shrink wrapping each wire. Once this is completed I will be moving to the hand controls and following the same process, here are some pics of where I am currently at.
Also, had had my tank professional polished by a bloke in Guildford (Sydney) and then had it clear coated and painted black underneath, tank looks brilliant and will post some updated bike photo's tomorrow after she's had a good clean and is presentable!!
thats what its all about
Bike is back together, all Molex plugs have been removed and it 'appears' that everything works the way it should! The only real challenge was the speedo wires, they have different colours and nothing matched so needed to mark each wire and ensure they went back together correctly. Everything else was a breeze!! Slap - You'll laugh @ this mate, ended up running short on funds so sold my Short Shots, got fucked around with the 2-1 and ended up picking up a second hand set of Short Shots from one of the boys on here. So went from a black ceramic set to a chrome set!! Put the original loud baffles back in as well...........
Here's a picture of the final product, just need to stick some 98 in her tomorrow morning and hope she kicks over!
Waz Excuse the quality, used the phone in the garage and it wasn't that crash hot!
Looks good mate. Tank came up well with the polish and clear coat. Maybe wrap the pipes in black heat tape for a new look? TC
