Gday people,
I have a drama with my 88 heritage, While riding along the bike just dies, it doesnt matter how hot or cold it is. As soon as i turn the ignition off then back on again it starts running again and i can do this while riding it. it started the other week so i had to keep turning it off and on just to get her home. Now while sitting in the shed it runs for about a minute then dies. To me it seems to be an electrical fault maybe a coil but im not sure, I replaced the ignition switch but no difference.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
check battery terminals etc , listen for main or ign circuit breaker cut in & out if so it's a short somewhere . but could be ign system if it's more than 5 years old it could be stuffed what type of ign system does she have if its stock original old 1988 it would be buggered
put your finger on the circuit breaker you will feel & HEAR IT CLICK IN & OUT IT'S NORMAL TAKE A COUPLE OF SEC'S TOO CLICK BACK IN AGAIN + PUT A TEST LAMP ON THE COIL INPUT WIRE ?
