Anbody familer with this set up & Tuning.
Having issues starting cold & warm - ( I have roller starters so no issues bring motor up to speed and starting on these ).
Lots of variables,is it stock or a stroker or bigbore, compression-too much / too little, cam?, straight out exhaust?, timing, plug heat range, leads, etc, but looking at your carb i`d say that is the problem, replace it with a stock cv and aircleaner and get the bike starting and running well this will give you confidence in what you have, then put the big carb back on, ask around and see what jets others use for the same setup as you.
Thanks Houli,
It a fresh rebuild a little on the wild side i got the cases and whent from there, It only got about 10 km on the motor. It will randomly start when its warm sometime with the choke on sometime's with out , its just pure random . And no way will it start when the motors cold with out the roller starters
I have just put in decompression plates aswith the comression releases on its to light to kick and they "pop" after one kick.
change the maggie to electronic ign i think you can hide them in the maggie if you want that look but you will never kick start proper with a 98' er stroker + maggie , take the cover off the maggie & the spark plugs then kick the motor over you will see that the maggie only turn's about a 1/4 too 1/3 of a turn per kicker stroke not enough too crank up a spark only when your luckly , electric start is good for a maggie , the other shit thing about the maggie is the coil windings inside have & very good electician check her out , i think you can hide a electronic ign inside them , e.g kick start only turns motor over B.T.D.C. too after T.D.C. maggie is driven off the camshaft & that is 1/2 crankshaft speed so the maggie is not turned enough too crack a spark
i heard they wern't the best back when , thats old from the 80's because they could not start them back then either , what's new
