Hi all. I have a dilema for when my new ride arrives. I am thinking of going to the black ceramic coated SE pipes on the lecky glide insead of the chromies this time around for a different look. Question is, can all youse in the know ( those people who actually have them, or have had the blackies) tell me if they are:-
1; Better or worse or same to clean, (boot marks, tar deposits, water marks etc). And which product works best for you to clean em.
2; Run hotter or cooler (radiant heat rising under me bum, legs etc)
3; Do they scuff or scratch at all?
4; Do stones actually chip the coating, and what colour is it underneath. Or do they bounce off leaving a slight mark like when they hit your fork leg?
5; Do they still look good after a coupla years?
6; Why the fire truck are they dearer. (i didn't think it was a 5 step proccess like chroming.)
I know this is a challenge and thanks in advance to anyone who can help me. It may make my decision easier.
