Brand of slip-ons

     Hi there

I probably should have posted this in Touring so mods move it if needed, but I'm researching different brands of slip-ons and was wondering what brands and models and why, folks have fitted to their baggers. I've got an 09 Electra Glide Ultra Classic.

Looked at Vance and Hines, Fuel Moto, Supertrapp and Rinehart. I want louder than stock but able to hear the CD/Radio but no drone at cruising speeds. Have Monster Ovals that have low frequency drone that is hard on the hearing after a long trip. Use an open face helmet. Bike's got stock headers and a SE Hi-flow airfilter.

I know exhaust choice is purely a personal choice but feedback is valuable in helping make a decision.

    Cheers :)

If you want louder than stock but still quiet enough to sail past the noise checkpoints and hear the radio, why not look at the SE slipons in the catalogue. I have the 4" street performance touring slip ons with the replaceable end caps and they sound good and even better when you roll it on.
I have a mate with the fatshotz on his Ultra and they are rather quiet even on roll on.

Maybe stop in a major dealership and they might have something you can hear for yourself. FYI I am not affiliated in any way with HD, just happy with my SE's.

     Hi there

Thats great info. What end caps did you go with? And which bike are they on? Stock headers?

    Cheers

I've got a 2012 FLTRX with the stock header pipes (flap disabled and kept open), SE Street Performance mufflers, hi-flo air filter and SERT. Sound is nice and deep. No where near as loud as my FXDF with V&H pipes, but actually has a nicer note to it. When heavy on the throttle it sounds very nice and the air/pipe combo lets it breath (meaning better response/performance).
