I bought one and yep not a bad bit of kit. Can be messy with the oil change and a bit of stuffing around but, and a bit wasteful as well but, you will be surprised about the amount of dirty oil that comes out. There is conflicting opinions about changes the old using this system, some say yay some say nay, What you are happy with in the end is the most important thing.

I have one and use it on my bike. When I showed the guys I ride with they all turned up a week later with a box of oil and some beer. I LIKE BEER.

So if you like BEER buy one and tell your mates.  Free beer!!!

They work well, surprising how much dirty oil is otherwise left in your engine.

Chris are you useing it on your 2011? and how many times would you think you have used it?
I like the idea but am cautious about the potential for damage. Then again old oil mixed in would be doing any good either

The Savenger system has many freinds and does what it is designed to do.  Cost approx $100 - 120 .  Approx 1 - 1.5 lts of diry oil is left in engine after normal oil drain.  What I do is drain engine as normal, install drain plug,  add 2ltrs of new oil,  that means that there is approx 3 - 3.5 ltrs in engine.   Let bike idle for about 5 minutes,  then drain oil as normal.   Then fill with approx 2- 3 ltrs (as there is 1- 1.5 ltrs still in engine).  Now you have diluted the dirty oil by approx 50- 60% that we have been doing for years.  Yes you are wasting 1- 1.5 ltrs of oil, but you wast some with the Scavenger anyway.   Not perfect, but something simple I can do. Just my 2 cents worth.

No dealer in Auz, at least last time I checked.

Yes they can be a little messy. Expect to spill oil and have paper laid out on the floor to catch. Immediately after I change the oil a full can of that $2 de greaser from super cheap cleans up all the spills on the bike and the floor.

Like many have said I also like the idea of 100% oil change. Never hurts to treat your bike with a little TLC.

Skin1312 , Mate I would help you out with a loan of the Scavenger but alas I am working out of Vic at the moment. Buy one and you won’t be sorry.

    Regards

The Scavenger won't fit/work on Rocker type oil systems.

The Scavenger won't fit/work on Rocker type oil systems.

I got this email from scavenger regarding rockers:

If you have the room to pull the return line out the RC120 will work. On the
Rocker c the seat height is low and there is not enough room to remove the oil
line from the tank for most people. In my shop I have Scavenged Rocker c's but
it is a little trying on my patience and most people can't do it. That is why
I do not offer a Scavenger for the Rocker c.

    Thank you,

    Hi ando ,
your idea works on evo's but not twin cam-evos filter is on return line ,but twin cam filter is on feed,so if you do as you have suggested you will have no oil pressure- thats why you can't use the two allen bolt ports just near the filter & have to buy an adapter for a cooler.

Been using the scavenger for about 18 months, got the kit with both tourer and softail fittings, works great on both have  a nightrain  & sTREET GLIDE.

This reall does make sense, as an engineer, I believe it it best to completey change the oil, you will have less build up of sludge over time

An old thread dig I know but I don't really see any point in starting a new one even though it's in product reviews.
Armed with the info quoted previously posted by wayco, have any Breakout/Rocker owning members managed to successfully use a scavenger on their bike since then?

Unfortunately I hadn't read this thread before I purchased one and Phil neglected to tell me it probably wouldn't work (or it would be a bitch to use) on a Breakout. I can't see how the oil return line will come fully out without some butchery or dropping the feed line so I would appreciate any feedback or experience you guys might be able to offer if there is any, many thanks in advance.

    Jason.

Jay-Dee , I have not seen or used this product.
Just wondering if you had your softail shoot the oil tank cap out, after an oil change?
Just puzzled to know why you would want one?

I just thought it seemed like a good idea rather than leaving nearly a quarter of the engines dirty oil in the engine after an oil change. I'm sure many, many Harleys have survived just fine the regular way but it couldn't hurt.
