Forum knowledge bank, do you have any advice/tips watch outs on installing rear wheel and alignment?

On the dirtbikes it's made easy with the groves in the swingarm.

    Cheers

Here you go.  This is on my Fatbob, although I have used it on my wifes sportster.  I take off the chain guard and use the top run of the belt.  The indicator slides over the belt and enables you to check alignment from the rear sprocket almost all the way to the front one.  If its out of alignment , it wont keep the laser on the same mark as the belt goes forward.  A bit of mucking around, but seems to work very well.

If you get hold of a workshop manual it tells you how to make your own aligning tool very easily and cheaply using a piece of strong wire and a grommet as a marker.  Works perfectly.

I just used one of the laser levels from BigW - I think it cost me 8 bucks thought they're usually about 12 I think.

I did the axle plugs and rod trick a while back.  Thought I had it pretty damn good, until I used the laser one and found out how far out I acutally was.  All depends on how much you want to spend, how accurate you want to get it, if you can be bothered rooting about.
