A few changes coming next week, foward controls as the boards don't suit my riding style, scraping them away, pull back risers to get the bars a bit closer and a black teardrop toolbox for a few essential tools.

Gday Frosty, reasonbly easy job mate, although i'm a fitter /mechanic by trade, took me a couple of hours or so to do. all up parts were about 550 bucks, $400 for controls, $150 or so for pegs, shifter and brake pedal pad, you may need to disconnect/ reconnect brake line which means bleeding the rear brake but after i'd disconnected mine i thought i might of been able to to get away with not doing it, get a couple of brake line banjo bolt washers and brake fluid just in case. only drama i had was fitting the kickstand to the forward control bracket but i found a short cut to sort that out, let me know if decide to do it yourself and i'll explain how. it really made the world of difference in ground clearance and handling.

good luck with it. cheers. Rod.

Gday 6gear, they really are a good looking bike aye. it's by far the best harley i've owned. the name slim refers to the narrowed rear wheel, personally i never liked the wide arse end look, although lots of others seem to, to each there own. Cheers.

I think it comes down to personal taste, but unfortunately it doesn't appeal to me.

My '13 Slim, picked up just before Xmas. As you can see, I'm into the blacked out look. My only gripe is that I would prefer a wider rear tyre.

     Ordered my slim on Friday.

After heaps of Dickin around over which bike was going to replace the fatty, I am wrapped with the choice. Fatty was a 07 with a bunch of basic mods, pipes, cams etc etc

should be ready about early April. Just in  time to head down to the 110 anny at williamstown.....

although the base package was pretty cool, being my first ever brand new Hog I was allowed by the leader of the opposition to bling her up a bit...

I started with a vivid black bike and although I don't feel wither way about the wheels, I changed em out and ordered a set of Performance machine gasser rims in contrast cut and slapped white walls around em. Love the bars so just added some Arlen ness black mirrors and the nostalgic white grips. I have chromed the front legs and sliders leaving the tinware around the headlight black as I reckon the contious mix of chrome and black is Grouse with a capital G. I also went for a more nostalgic tank emblem.

Moving back along the bike I have swapped the polished engine ware for chrome as it follows the them I am chasing, added a set of se255 cams, a tuner and some V&H big shots in chrome. I got the tacho/speedo combo and a nice black quick release sissy bar for the boss when she is on board and a black line two up seat for that purpose as well. I am taking the standard seat to a trimmer mate who specialises in Kool and getting him to retrim in black with white diamond pleating and white piping etc, ( I have a design in my head, but he will sort it out.)

I know this wont be everybody's idea of cool but it is mine, so that's all that counts.

Future plans include some burliegh 14inch fat black apes with the white grips and maybe a full custom ole Sokol sissy bar and an LED taillight mounted under the guard with a side mount license plate, and Maybe a cream coloured side panel on the tank

thats it I guess, the bike rode well without the mods, cannot wait to see what the boys produce the day I pick her up and my ideas are all on the canvas so to speak..

i am really looking forward to the skinny rear as it is the main reason I fell in love with the slim. I also really like the mix up of black and chrome on the bike.

anyways snuff from me, I will post pics after her first ride home, hope to meet some of you blokes down at willy.
