    Gday goobs here

I have a 98 Fatboy I recently purchased and the previous owner extended the front end by 4 inches. Not a problem except when I fuel up. Because you cant sit on your bike to fill up anymore, the bike leans too much and I cant fill the tanks. Is there a longer stand you can buy or do you have to mod your own??

    Cheers

That would have to be the least of your probs.

Fatboys are renoun to crashing when its dynamics have been altered. [Nice on a right hander is it??]

Extended 4 inches?? That's like Raking a tour glide and basically a stupid thing to do !!!

Fatboys are not choppers....Watch out riding that thing.

Goobs, why you would ask this question in the Queensland Rides section of the forum is strange when there are Softail specific sub forums as well as a workshop section or do you only want queenslanders to answer it?

To be honest Im not sure how I got onto queensland site? Im from WA.Not much good at computors!.However all I want to no, which is my original question, can you get longer kick stands??.Preferably without someones judgement on whos a newbe or not! Or how 100mm extra on my fork tubes is so dangerous on Fatboys and litigation involved if I kill myself or someone else.

    Cheers

    no then

Generally posts are not only just about your situation
but also when people other than yourself that are in the same boat will search out general topics and may end up here.
I am giving my opinion and modifying experience ,bike and car and hoping it helps by spelling it out nice and plain like.

To alter anything on a bike it may/will need an engineers certificate or EC to comply or meet with ADR's guidelines.

If someone has an off and needs insurance "they" will not pay up because of any modification being illegal.
Even the wheel track will come into question and an extended or modified kickstand is unheard of.

This is a forum my friend , people discuss things. If you don't want to know then don't ask for fear or getting a answer you may not like.

The people that have had off's on modified Fatboys were also not new to the game.
If any point that I have mentioned doesn't sound right then make it known.

Oh yeah,my last post states 11.33PM.
Look at my Siggie for clarification on that.HAHAHAHA
.And as for me being light,I'm working on it..
