Springers & sidecars?

I'm considering adding a chair to my '98 Springer. I did a forum search and found some handy info in this thread:

    http://hdforums.com.au/Default.aspx?tabid=71&forumid=24&postid=368435&view=topic

However, I'm hoping for feedback on springer front ends in particular. I understand leading links & girders are the ducks nuts if properly setting up a chair, but I expect to remove the chair from time ta time. The springer front is the essence of the bike so I really don't want to remove it. Anyone here with experience or recommendations for springers & chairs?

I've emailed for prices from the Aussie Sidecar Companies I've found on the web but see they're all located down south, as far as SA. Any Qld based Builders or mobs cluey on sidecars? There's a bloke on here who's got a chair on eBay but that got me thinkin', why not buy a brand spanker?

Any feedback on this is appreciated, sidecars in general but coupled with Springers in particular.

Thanks Chopa, I'll keep it in mind. I'm dead set keen to have an outfit (I've always liked 'em) but I've gotta count the pennies. I've sent emails to a few OZ based Sidecar Manufacturers asking their prices. One reply to date has theirs at $10K give or take!

I may yet end up keeping my Springer as a solo and buying a second hand Bonneville & second hand chair. Dunno. But on that note I'll send you a PM regards importing.

Thanks ol skool, I've so many options at the mo... I've been sussing second hand Bonnies as a tug for a sidecar. I figure I'd need no less than 850cc ta haul a chair & my fat arse around. There's a Beemer I'm negotiating on too. I've sent emails to Royal Enfield, URAL, Premier sidecars, Dusting sidecars, Watsonian in NZ etc, etc. And there's a bloke on here whose listing a HD chair on eBay.

I think my Springer would be a 100% horn bag tug for a chair but I do love having it as a solo. What ta do, what ta do...
