Hi, my name is Pikey and im new to this site.

I have recently bought my 1st Harley 07 softail custom.

Ive sussed out new bars for my bike and am going to get Berlei T bars 1 1/2 inch, but im unsure whether to go 6" or 8" coz of the reach factor and look. im 5 9" in height, ive read all the older posts on the site, it seems to be a common question, but mixed opinions about this, wondering if anyone has any pics or opinions on what bars what be best suited to me and my bike.

i think the 6" look alot better but am just worried about the reach and comfort when riding. Hoping someone has recently put similar bars on same bike and maybe has a bit more info and sugestions for me.

    Cheers

    Pikey

Welcome Pikey hope you enjoy the forums and congrats on getting your first Harley.About the bars go to a dealer and ask if you can grab a set of both and put them where you want them and see if they feel good in that position.I have done the same thing when i wanted apes i took a set of 14 inch and 10 inch and put them roughly where i wanted them and that did the trick.Good luck Pikey with the bars.

Gidday ta you pikey and yeah, what Etch says on the bars. Have you considered risers? They'll make a hellova difference to ya reach. Where are you? I dropped inta Burleigh Bars one day and explained what bars I was after (beach or westerns). Dave said ta bring the bike down and he'd place a couple in situ ta see what I preferred.

Burleighs cost a motza so choose well!
