Just had a pair of 430 series progressive shocks fitted to my 2012 FXDC .They have transformed the bike . I often ride 2 up , and the bottoming out was just plain nasty , yes I had the stock shocks fully preloaded . The 430,s are all chrome (even the part inside the spring ) and pre load is adjustable by hand . The stock chrome top bolt cover just needs a bit of a trim to fit over new shock . Check out the progressive suspension website to find a pair of shocks to fit your bike . Stock length is 12" , and I ordered 12.5" for just a bit more travel . If lowering is more your style then shorter shocks are available . Heavy duty springs are also available . These are recommended for a min weght of 250lb  . I weigh 230lb and did go the hd spring . On the min pre load setting the bike drops 1" when I sit on it , on second setting with rider and pillion , also 1" drop .Shocks are adjusted by thread , allowing fine adjustment . Bought mine through J.C. Motors in U.S. Excellent service . Quoted $799 here , and bought for $421 delivered . Just pick the part # from progressive and J.C. s will quote price , cheaper than going direct through progressive . J.C. Motors also have youtube vids on all models of progressive shocks , explaining them thoroughly . Good luck boys , ya can,t go wrong .
