When are Harley Davidson Rockers available in Australia?

I have been told by Aust dealers delivery was oct/nov, then nove/dec and now that they dont have a clue when? Allocations people at HD Australia wont give any date! I asked could it be Jan or Dec 08? "I'm not going to tell you a date, we have not started even manufacturing yet" was the answer. This is so frustrating when you have put money down
and cant be given a reasonable answer! Enlighten me please!

a mate put $1,000 dep on 1 and was told they start building them in sep , he was told jan--march for delivery

was in my dealers the other day and a fella was enquiring about the r/custom and was told delivery would besometime between Jan and March, and I think he may have said something about each dealer only being allocated two each..Not %100 on whether I heard right... but the salesman was telling this fella if he was thinking about it he needed to drop a deposit because of this limitation

For what it's worth our solo Perth Dealer didn't manage to get one in even for the 08 Release on Oct 4th so they are in rare supply. There are 2 "C'"s and a Standard at the Melbourne Bike Show right now. I ordered my "C" on July 19 and was told Dec/Jan. delivery. Three days ago I was told the same. There MAY be a couple of the first ones in around mid-Dec. I'm amazed that other guys got on the list before me as they had only been released on the Net about 5 days earlier!! Maybe they had heard some rumours that I missed!!!

 

 

Ordered my C in Pac blue early August and hoping its a January delivery! Anyone know of any aftermarket seat options and will any of the vance & hines range fit the rocker? Anyone else heard of a limited Dec delivery? Thanks.......scooter

Ratsmow, Thanks for the info.I'll look for info from performance machine and skinners. I'm bikeless at the mo as I sold up to get as much together for the Rocker. If I'd known it was going to take so long I might have held on to me old ride a bit longer!  Guess thats why I'm impatient, no release from the everyday blah blah,sure ya know what I mean! Was at Frasers yesterday and when I asked when they expect to see a Rocker was given a very cold 'next year'... whats up with Frasers anyway. Seems mostly new people and not very friendly lately.

I like the look of the Rocker... but not sure I like this arrangement for pillion, although it will provide a awesome back rest for rider

That sounds like good news but my dealer in Nth Qld said yesterday he still has'nt got production confirmation so someone's either in the dark or just hasnt been informed by HD Australia yet. If they havent started production I cant see how we will see any this side of xmas! Anyone got a good contact at HD head office they can get the right info from? I was told that U.S Dealesr have had numbers cut back because worldwide demand is higher than production ability.   Anything.....Please!!!!  Scooterau

I am contemplating Fat Boy or the Softail Custom with a hertland rear conversion kit.

              Had a 2000 twincam Fatboy, bronze in colour. A nice bike but a real wind catcher on the highway.  Dont know wheather to wait or buy a Softail custom and put a widearse on it.

I am in the same predicament here. Saw the Rocker C at Harley Heaven last week and absolutely loved the look (minus the gap between the rear seat and the fender, which Heartland is addressing with a new seat and fender design as we speak). However I am bit dubious whether I am game enough to wait another 6 month for one.

The idea of Softail Custom with a 250 conversion kit did cross my mind few times (especially after I've seen few on the road) but the cost for Heartland kit is around 5.8k + the cost of the rear wheel and naturally you will void your HD warranty. (http://www.heartlandbiker.com/250conversion.shtml). I would probably be happy with just a 200 fender conversion kit on the custom.

             No I'm in Queensland and yes I  put a significant deposit down in August. Everyday the thought crosses my mind-do I wait (and I'm at the top of the list )or go for the custom! I think if I dont wait I will be disappointed when I see them reach ouir shores. Had a look at Heartland ,very nice mate...you wont come out much more above the rocker price as the custom is quite a bit cheaper! The old saying "Good things come to those who wait" still doesnt make it any easier eh! Scooterau

If HD is having production problems, where is the guarantee that the Rocker wll not get delayed by another 8 or 10 month?! Well, on another hand, you might see yourse in March!

Either way, I am test riding Rocker C this saturday together with Fat Boy and Custom and will finally leave my deposit at the dealers. (btw, I rode Dyna Street Bob last weekend and didn't reallyh like).

I'm in Perth and placed my order in August for a Rocker C.  Flew to Melbourne for the bike show to see the Rocker and spoke to the HD guy there.  His view was Perth deliveries in March to July given my order is in the high teens on Fraser's order book. He also said given where my order was in the queue he estimated my bike would be in quote "Build #3" and that would represent a 2nd quarter shipment date.

What I don't understand is that if I purchased a new HSV Maloo VE Ute (for example) HSV could give me a build date but HD can't ?  I kinda struggle with that

I have a friend in NYC who's best mate is a project manager at HD so I'm trying to find out more detail from that end.  If/when I do it'll be posted here.

             The latest is not good.................April at least sayes my dealer! I'm buying the Softail custom and doing some tricks to it. All going well I will have it in a weeks time! They are obviously freaking about sales on 08 bikes (non-rocker) already manufactured and waiting off till their sure they are not going to be left with stock. That's my opinion anyway.

I think I am going to follow your path.. My Rocker C won't come in till September next year. That's a very long wait in my opinion! Could I ask if you managed to get any discount from your local dealer?
What mods have you got in mind? (250 heartland conversion?)

When I ordered my Fatboy in July from the Darwin dealer, others were ordering Rockers around the same time. The expected delivery date was around the first week of November, like mine. When I called to check for an update of my delivery the sales guy told me that people that ordered Rockers will probably be waiting until next June/July. I'd be spewin if it were me!
