Before you all shoot me and ban me, its not my scoot. I got lady a scoot to get her license with, I found a pretty cheap 50cc Sym Jolie, so we got that for the L/P period. Trouble is, its top speed is about 60kmph, which is OK, but as we live around a ton of 80 zones, I'd like to get it up to doing 80. So i've been doing some googling and it looks like there are things you can buy and do to it to get some extra speed out of it. There is bore kit for it, and apparently if you drill out a little restrictor plate in the exhuast, that gives you a little extra too.
So my question, anyone here have any experience with Scoots and doing this kind of thing? Any other tips?
Cheers
No sprockets , they have a belt with tapered pulleys each end , as engine speed increases , the belt centrificultly moves up or down the pulleys to alter gearing . Some scooters have a stop on the pulleys that you can remove to increase speed . Not that I know anything about scooters , Tim.
That sounds like a variable ratio works like some of the new car auto trans.
is the motor two stroke or 4 stroke?
Love scooters we have 3 scooters and proud of it
