I posted this under the helmet thread but it's very relivent here.
I've been looking for ages for a shortie that will sit low and not look like a mushroom head. Well today I went to a couple of shops and finally stopped in at Gasoline Alley and I discovered something very interesting. I Liked the Nex shortie and was considering getting a small one and painting on some thinners to the polystyrene on the inside to dissolve it slowly until it fitted. What I actually discovered is that the actual helmet is the same size regardless whether you get a large or a small it is the insert (polystyrene and foam) that is a different thickness. So if you want it to sit low and not look stupid then get the largest size possible. It still fits, it's legal and looks a lot better than one that's your actual size.
