Gday, i am trying to buy a Screamin Eagle tuner for my 2011 FXST , the dealer told me its part number 85861 at $520 but when i try and look on the net for a cheaper alternative it doesnt even list a 85861 ! . Would this be exactly the same as the 41000008 ?. Are there cheaper alternatives to the S/E that do exactly the same job?

Whats the difference between the two SE? I have 07 FXDWG which currently has an Arlen Ness Big Shot Tuner fitted, i was going to remove it and go for the SE. I know shit about these things, was going to change it after talking to the mechanic with regards to changing how the bike runs. I realise the HD dealer will push the SE but it seems the easiest way to go. The bike has V&H big radius 2 into 1 and hypercharger fitted.
I have a TTS tuner on my 07 but the difference between the two SE tuners is the street tuner will only allow EPA caned maps to be loaded in the ECM that suit SE builds. The SE super tuner will allow full access and custom mapping so most dyno shops can build a map to suit your bike or you can use the smart (dumb) tune option. Don't waste your money on the street tuner buy the super tuner or the TTS.
Soi'm going to bite the bullet nd get a SE tuner for the FXDWG, now the question is do i go to the HD dealer and have it fitted and have it tuned to one of their maps that has been made for the same engine with the same or similar mods which will cost me apprently an extra $50 or do i go to another non HD mechanic who can supply the same tuner for the same price but charge me $280 to run it on the dyno to tune / map it? Probably sounds like im being a tight arse but its a case of justifying the extra $$ at the moment.
