I have been told that my bike is on the ship and heading to Oz.

Any one have an idea how long it may take?

I was told it may be six weeks BUT it shouldnt take that long to sail a cargo vessel from Los Angeles to the East Coast of Oz?

I know it will be in customs for approx 10 days or so but 6 weeks seems excessive to travel that far.

I figure its 7300 miles to Sydney from LA at an average speed of 21 knots which still means that its only 12 days travel. Now I suppose they will stop at a couple of ports on the way and off load and repack so lets say 8 days of stoppage. Thats still only 20 days. Just short of 3 weeks. Theres six to acount for. Well someone set me straight. I know I getting a bit excited but can you blame me?

    Any ideas?

PS Yeah I know Im a pain. Its in the job description.

I was told yesterday that my bike has been on the water since the 8th of March. Now all ships I seen on a shipping manifest said that they would take 33 days approx to get to Oz. Those 33 days are up!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am hoping that the ship is just about here then clear customs etc so I should have a ride in about 3 weeks. Maybe? Hopefully??????/ AWWWWWWWW COME ON DELIVER THE BIKE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What about poor old me. Mr Chopaweeza In your infinate wisdom, Would you be able to estimate when my Glide Gets here. It's coming through H-d Australia and left the states on 3rd of march. I know it's not your issue but any help would be grateful! Thanks.

Hutch. I was told my bike left the factory on the 6th of March and was on the water on the 8th of March. Now if its coming through Frazers in Newcastle it will be on the same boat as mine as HD Australia only do approx 6 shipments per year (Or so I was told). That means either my bike left earlier than stated or your bike left later than you were told. My bike is in Phase 5 of HD shipment plan. I wouldnt think they would put two different bikes on two different ships within a couple of days of each other. I ordered mine in January and was told Middle to late April possible early May. In my opinion thats too fucking long!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im going mental!!!! oops already there.

TELLMEABOUTIT.  I was there today and she told me it's still on the water. 6 to 8 weeks from when it leaves the states they said. I havn't been waiting as long as you David, but it sure is niggleing away at me. To relive the pain i keep on ordering more bling for me to fit! Did you order a custom colour or CVO or something. Mine is custom colour tequila sunrise/ H-D orange FLHTCU. But they must both be on the slow boat to NZ first with all stops to TIMBUKTU. I too am sad. . I start on a shutdown on the 3rd of may for 6 weeks or so, 12 hour shifts,  so i won't even get to play with it for that time when it does arrive. More Boo Hoo.

Mine is a stock colour, Vivid Black and is a Superglide Custom. Just a bag standard bike. I know the feeling. I'm looking at weeks in advance to see when I'm off work etc. I work 12.5 hour shifts now but luckily no more than 3 in a row. Still its a pain that this has happened. Someone said if they increased the amount of bikes to Oz it would lower the exclusivity of HD in the market place. I do know people get the shits with waiting so long. Many order then drop out whilst waiting. The dealers don't care as they will still sell the stock they get.
I'm just hoping that Chopaweeza's scenario is not happening to our bikes. As for Frazers saying they are still on the water, I think they only get updates once something has happened. By that I mean once they are in customs then released then they might say they have landed and when Harley get them to the warehouse then its more then likely you will be told a positive delivery date. Been waiting since 19th January so a few extra days wont worry me.
